Actually, I've known BossaNova for quite some time already. As I recall back, the first Bossa CD I bought was from Siam Square (near Kasikorn Bank) years ago. In fact, I heard this kinda sound before but had no idea it's called bossanova. Since then, I enjoy listenning to this sound either in Thai, English or Portugese (which is original).
I also recall that while living in Singapore, I organised one party and used all English bossa songs (the original version of these songs is soft and slow). Bossanova makes songs having a different character and mood, I'd say. Whenever I want inspiration/hope or even to sleep, I just listen to bossa and will be able to sleep soundly! As I'm dreamy and romantic by nature (which makes it hard to live each day really!), I feel as if I'm near the sea and on the relaxing/chilling out mode. I think this is the charm of this style of music.
Heard about Lula before that she's a bossa singer in Thailand; this morning she was on TV with other singers for Stars on Stage program. She sang "เรื่องบนเตียง"; its melody sounds cute indeed! So I just wanna honour her by posting her song as the start of this entry
I still have lots in stock though-- bossanova songs. Hope whoever reads this blog will like it too
