Sixpack protein and HOD mics - Research literature becomes fun to read
When we talks about research literature, most of us think it is boring. However, there's a book that change my thought. This book is High-Yield Cell and Molecular Biology, written by Dr. Ronald W. Dudek.
I like the last chapter the most.
Chapter 27 Understanding the Research Literature
Introduction
Reading and understanding the research literature in molecular biology can be a duanting task because it includes a collection of abbreviations (i.e., the proverbial "alphabet soup"), a potpourri of molecular biology techniques, and follows a certain sequence of steps that may not be intuitively obvious. A fictional example of a molecular biology scenario is given below that should help the uninitiated students understand not only the research literature, but also research seminars.

...a chapter on understanding the research literature where a fictitious molecular biology scenario is presented as it would be published in the scientific literature with the intent of providing the reader with a sense of how early molecular biology discoveries are reported...
(From American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education 2007; 71 (6) Article 126. Corresponding Author: Mitchell R. Emerson, Ph.D.)
A chapter on understanding the research literature provides a solid background in molecular biology protocol so that students can understand the purpose and thinking behind published research articles.
