If the "early" soft spot closure caused skull size to be too small (a condition called microcephaly), then this could affect brain growth enough to cause delays in development. If your daughter can do all of the following milestones for age 4-5 months, then there is no developmental delay:
GROSS MOTOR Head steady while sitting. Bears weight on legs. Head and chest up when prone with arm extended and support on wrist. Rolls over. Pulls to sit, no head lag. Sits without support (usually seen at age 6 months)
FINE MOTOR Hands together midline. Grasps rattle. Follows 180° with her eyes. Looks at raisin. Reaches for objects.
