Shia Saide LaBeouf was born June 11, 1986 in Los Angeles, California to Jeffrey LaBeouf, a Cajun circus clown, and Shayna Saide, a Jewish American ballerina. Shia grew up as an only child and was entertaining others at an early age. A born comedian (his grandfather was a comedian as well), Shia started doing stand-up comedy for his neighborhood, and after watching a friend act on Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, he decided he wanted to be an actor. He found an agent in the phone book, auditioned, and was signed. Shia had several small film and television roles before getting his big break in 2000 with the role of Louis Stevens on the hit Disney show, "Even Stevens". He was awarded a 2003 Daytime Emmy Award (Outstanding Performer in a Children's Series) for that role.
