Tare Zameen Par, An incredible Indian movie...(2007)
I was just looking through the movie blogs and noticed that there a number of bloggers here who likes to watch Indian movies as well, so do I. So here I am recommending an incredible, not to be missed, Indian movie. It is the first production by one of the famous actor in India, Aamir Khan whom acted as the teacher in the movie as well.
'Tare Zameen Par' (translated as 'Star on Earth') is the movie about a special needs child, who was not being understood by his parents, hence he was always left out from the family. His parents thought he was just another 'spoiled' plus 'idiotic' child, as he was not able to read, write or spell. Basically, they think he was useless and stupid. It really disappointed his parents because he was a 'boy', whom they thought they could rely on later in life. The child was then got sent away to a boarding school, where he became really quiet and depressed. Later he was rescued by an Art teacher, who found out what is really wrong with the child and helped him out.
From my opinion as a special needs teacher, I like the way this movie represents, the plots and how the characters expressing their feelings out. I am not ashamed to say I cried, alot. If I gave 'I am Sam' 5 stars i would give this movie 10. For me this was one of the best Indian movie I have seen after a long time.

International Dyslexia Association
Taare Zameen Par was screened in the United States (Seattle, Washington) on 29 October 2008 for the International Dyslexia Association. Khan noted that there were about 200 people in the audience and that he was "curious to see the response of a non Indian audience to what we had made." He felt some concern that the film was shown in a conference room rather than a cinema hall and was projected as a DVD rather than as a film. He stated that the film concluded to an "absolutely thunderous standing ovation" which "overwhelmed" him and that he "saw the tears streaming down the cheeks of the audience." Khan also noted that the reaction to the film "was exactly as it had been with audiences back home in India. (From Google)
