How to turn off Auto Recovery (AUTO Save) in SQL Server Management Studio?


Select Start, Goto Run
Type RegEdit, Enter
Go to this path
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftMicrosoft SQL Server100ToolsShellGeneralAutoRecover

Change the value for “Auto Recover Enabled” by Double click on the “Auto Recover Enabled”, you can see the Edit window with current value “1“, change this value to “0” then press ok.

In case you want to turn on this option later on, you can Turn on this option by setting value back to “1” on the same path.
