Riyo made several appearances around New York in commemoration of World AIDS Day. Her first stop was at APICHA where she took a public HIV test.
Riyo is assisted by Sunny Shiroma and Joey Akima of APICHA as she takes a public HIV test.
Riyo makes a few statements about the importance of HIV/AIDS awareness after her HIV test.
Red ribbons are placed on a tree at APICHA memorializing those who have passed away from AIDS.
Riyo poses with some traditional Polynesian dancers during APICHA's World AIDS Day events.
Riyo heads over to the Latino Commission on AIDS and accepts the "Madrina (Godmother) of LCOA" Award from Dennis Deleon, President, and Guillermo Chacon, Vice President of the LCOA. She is their first Japanese Madrina!
Riyo discusses her HIV test at APICHA with members of the Latino Commission on AIDS. She hopes people from all communities will continue to be proactive about the pandemic.
Riyo meets some of the partners and patients of LCOA.
Riyo signs the LCOA World AIDS Day banner to commemorate the event.
Featured in one of his creations, Riyo is reunited with one of her judges, celebrity fashion designer Marc Bouwer.
At the New York AIDS Film Festival Red Ball Awards and Fashion Show, Riyo is welcomed by Suzanne Engo, Executive Director of the Film Festival and several award winners and presenters including model Maggie Rizer.
Mr. Takasu, Representative of Japan to the United Nations, congratulates Riyo, one of the evening's award recipients, for her dedication in bringing awareness about the HIV/AIDS pandemic throughout the world.

Riyo arrives to Cannes, France to present the Five Star Diamond Award to various resorts. Here she enjoys the view at the Hotel Martinez.

Riyo and Rachel head back to the Hotel Martinez to celebrate the International Luxury Show's Viking-Themed party.
After the Viking Party, Riyo and Rachel head to the Star Wars themed event next door.

Riyo, Hilary, and Rachel paid a visit to the Nina Showroom in New York City. Riyo wore Nina "Gideon," Hilary wore Nina "Bitki" and Rachel woreNina "Kalei." All these styles are available at //www.ninashoes.com. Nina is the official shoe sponsor of the Miss Universe Organization.

Riyo congratulates the new Miss Russia Universe, Ksenia Sukninova. Ksenia will compete for the 2008 Miss Universe title in Vietnam.
Riyo and Tatiana, Miss Russia Universe 2006, reunite! They competed together at the 2007 Miss Universe competition in Mexico City.
