มีเคสใหม่มาเมื่ออาทิตย์ก่อน "Al" เด็กชายอายุสามปีสี่เดือน มีอากาีรไฮเปอร์แอคทีฟร่วมกับspeech delay พ่อแม่ทำงานนอกบ้านทั้งคู่ ทำให้Alต้องอยู่ในความดูแลของย่าและน้าสะใภ้  Alนับว่าเป็นเคสที่ไม่น่าหนักใจนัก เพราะไม่ได้อยู่ในกลุ่ม Classic Autism อัลเข้าใจประโยคสั้นๆง่ายๆ ที่ย่าใช้พูดกับเขาบ่อยๆ เช่น come here, sit, give, go, put on shoes, go pee, yes, no etc. ในช่วงอาทิตย์แรกของการเข้าเรียนในออทิสติกเซ็นเตอร์ เรายังต้องใช้เวลาอีกซักพัก เพื่อวางแผนการเรียนให้ Al (Individual Education Plan)

วันนี้เราไปเยี่ยมโรงเรียนอนุบาลที่ Al พึ่งจะเข้าเรียนเป็นเวลาประมาณ6เดือน มันก็ไม่น่าจะมีปัญหาอะไร ถ้าครูใหญ่ของโรงเรียนนี้ไม่ได้เป็น "Miss I-know-everything"

This miss "MIKn." greeted us with a weary smile before taking us to see Al's class. เราสอบถามเรื่องต่างๆเกี่ยวกับ Al อาทิ เขามีปัญหาอะไรบ้างเมื่ออยู่ในคลาส, แสดงอาการเข้าใจ หรือตอบสนองกับสิ่งที่ครูประจำชั้นสอนมากน้อยแค่ไหน, เล่นกับเพื่อนร่วมชั้นหรือไม่ อย่างไร? MIKn.ตอบทุกคำถามของเราโดยมีความคิดเห็นของเธอสอดแทรกอยู่ประมาณ90%ของทุกคำตอบ  แต่ที่ทำให้เรารู้สึกแย่ก็คือ เธอเริ่มร่ายยาว เรื่องสาเหตุที่ Al กลายเป็นเด็กออทิสติก --->

MIKn. : "What do you know about him?" 

Me : .....Um...

MIKn : "Well, let me tell you, you can't possibly know why he is like this! You]ve just met him a few times. Do you know his family background?" ( Yes, as per the registration form tells me.)

"Do you know how his mom and dad treat him?" (and how do "YOU" know?) "Do you know he is a troubled child, he doesn't like his parents and he does all this weird thing because he wants to get more attention from the parents." (Oh, do you read mind, or Al told you all this sh**?)

"This boy needs a proper upbringing. His mom and dad just only care about work, work and work and that results their son stop talking and starts doing all crazy stuff." (by this time I stop talking, merely looking at her in disbelieve and disgust!) "The grandma just spoiled him, she has no idea how hateful he is. You see, the family made him to be autistic. No matter how you teach him, HE will never learn!"

"What method you said you want to use to help him? Oh, never mind, I guarantee you will give up after a while and suddenly realized "YOUR" way of teaching is useless with this kind of kids!" (I now try not to shout profanity and shake her silly head till the brain is back to function once again!)
