Thailand mourns "Father of Thai Orchids"

Venerable professor Rapee Sagrik, a remarkable scholar and the nation's most esteemed horticulturist, known a the "Father of Thai Orchids", passed away peacefully at 7 am yesterday in Vibavadi Hospital at the age of 95. Professor Rapee's title was bestowed by the late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej in 1973.
