screen resolution

Until recently most monitors typically had a pixel density* of 96 ppi. Various different company's monitors were designed to match the display size (inch size) with the resolution, therefore most OS and applications were also made based on this 96 dpi standard.

Native resolution is written in the monitor specifications, but what exactly does it mean? What happens if images are displayed in a screen resolution other than "native resolution"? In particular, you can't help but wonder what happens when an image is displayed in resolution with a different aspect ratio.

The “number of pixels,” or in other words the “number of dots that glow,” is decided on the LCD screen, and that “number of pixels” is the “original resolution”. For example, this means that a monitor with a native resolution of "1920 × 1200" turns 1920 horizontal lines (dots) and 1200 vertical lines (dots) of pixels on or off to display images.

In addition, the world of 8K, which follows 4K and 5K, is nearing completion. 8K (7680 x 4320 pixels / 16: 9) compatible test models have been popping up at video shows and events, and the transition to higher resolution and higher definition will continue at a rapid pace. In standalone monitors, super-high pixel density 4K monitors in 24- to 27-inch screen sizes have been a hot topic lately

Each device has a different DPR. Higher resolution devices have a higher DPR. These devices can see sharper images because they use multiple screen pixels for each CSS pixel. This means that the nuances of the image are better represented. If a web browser or any other application keeps saying that a pixel according to the concept of pixel application is the same as a pixel on the screen, then you will end up with text and images so small that they are not easy to see.

High density screens or Retina monitors sold by Apple are generally recognized as having a physical pixel density greater than 200 pixels per inch (PPI). This means that they have twice the pixel density of a average computer monitor. 4K monitors for PCs hit the shelves in 2014, and understanding pixel density has become important when choosing monitors and other screens.
