SharePoint 2010 – Opening Port in the firewall for the Document Conversion Load Balancer service

เหตุการณ์นี้เกิดขึ้นเมื่อผมได้ทำการ เปิด Document Conversions service ทิ้งไว้แล้วเมื่อตอนเช้ามาตรวจสอบระบบดูปรากฏว่ามี error เกิดขึ้นมากมายด้วยความที่เรา setup ยังไม่ครบถ้วน เราเลยต้องแก้ไขมันซักหน่อย

ภาพรวมของ เหตุการณ์

ถ้าหากคุณได้ืำทำการเปิด Document Conversions Launcher service บน Server Farm ของ SharePoint Server 2010 แล้ว เมื่อใช้งานไปแล้วปรากฏว่ามี Error เกิดขึ้นซึ่งสามารถเข้าไปตรวจสอบได้ใน Event Viewer ของ Server Farm

ซึ่งถ้าหากคุณมี Error เช่นดังข้อความข้างล่างนี้, คือ Document Conversions Launcher service ไม่สามารถเข้าถึง Load Balancer service, ซึ่งมันเกิดขึ้นเพราะ Service ไม่สามารถวิ่งผ่านตัว firewall ได้
ซึ่ง error นี้จะเกิดขึ้นหลายครั้งมากใน application event log, ซึ่งแทบจะทุกนาทีเลยก็ว่าได้

Critical Error 7933

"The Office HTML Viewer Service could not be registered with Office HTML Load Balancing Service."

ขั้นตอนในการแก้ไข:

บน Server farm ที่ได้ทำการเปิด Load Balancing service,
ไปที่ เมนูControl Panel –> Windows Firewall –> Advanced Settings

ภายใต้ Inbound rules สร้าง rule ใหม่เพื่อให้ connection ของ Load Balancing Service สามารถทะลุผ่านได้
