MONTERREY, N.L., Sep. 20 - Karla María Carrillo González, a 20 year old student of graphic design from Guadalajara (Jalisco), was crowned Nuestra Belleza Mexico 2008 during an event telecast live from the Monterrey Arena in Nuevo León.
Karla is 1.76 m tall and will represent the country at the Miss Universe 2009 pageant.
Crowned as Nuestra Belleza Mundo Mexico (Mexico World) was Perla Judith Beltrán Acosta (21) from Guamúchil (Sinaloa) .
Perla, who also won the "Best Model" award, stands 1.78 m tall and will represent Mexico at the Miss World 2009 pageant.
The 1st runner up was Laura Zúñiga (Sinaloa) who will represent Mexico at the Miss International 2009 contest.
The 2nd runner up was Cecilia Montaño (Sonora) and the 3rd runner up was Paulina Hernández (Baja California Norte).
The event was hosted by Alfredo Adame and Jackeline Bracamontes. Among the judges were the reigning Miss International, Priscila Perales; Blanca Soto, Miss Mexico World 1997; Carolina Moran, Miss Mexico World 2007; and Gabriel Soto, former Mister Mexico and actor.
32 women competed in the 15th anniversary of Nuestra Belleza Mexico, event organized by former Miss Universe Lupita Jones since 1994.
