"A New Way to See Food" is a part of the Food Matters series of documentaries on food and nutrition. It is produced and directed by James Colquhoun and Laurentine ten Bosch, and consists of contributions from Vicky Blewitt, Ian Brighthope, Jerome Burne, and Philip Day, among others. The film deals with the usual food myths and tells us what to take seriously and what to ignore as bogus. This is an interesting documentary in the fact that it takes into account historical perspectives about food and nutrition.
This is a highly interesting documentary film that is almost guaranteed to change the way we think about food forever. We shall see how the food we eat makes us either healthy or sick. We learn of the reasons why diseases and sickness is increasingly becoming a regular part of our society, it is actually due to the fact that we are increasingly relying on chemical additives and nutritionally depleted "clinical" foods to cater for our wellbeing.
Thus this film serves the purpose to educate the people about the kinds of food that are advisable under normal conditions; it is only through communication and education that people will learn to make better choices regarding food. The film then goes on to interview leading food and nutrition experts who claim that we are actually harming our bodies by having a non healthy diet. They further assert that chronic illnesses as fatal as cancer can be effectively treated by having the right kind of food and supplements.
The film makes a point of helping us revisit our belief systems that have been fed to us by modern healthcare establishments. Much of illnesses can be easily fought off by changing our diet accordingly, rather than having to pay copious amounts of money to buy costly medicines or to have conventional medical treatments.
