กู้เจียฮุย ยอดนักประพันธ์ดนตรีแห่งวงการภาพยนต์จีน

หลายๆ ท่านคงเป็นแฟนตัวยงของภาพยนต์จีน โดยเฉพาะภาพยนต์จีนในช่วงปี ค.ศ. 1980 – 2000 (พ.ศ. 2523 – 2543) ซึ่งเป็นยุครุ่งเรืองของภาพยนต์จีนทาง TV ในประเทศไทย ครั้งนี้มุมดนตรีขอนำเสนอชีวประวัติของคุณ กู้เจียฮุย (Joseph Koo Kar-Fai) ผู้สร้างสรรค์เพลงประกอบอันมีเอกลักษณ์ให้กับภาพยนต์จีนในสมัยนั้น

กู้เจียฮุย (Joseph Koo Kar-Fai) เกิดในวันที่ 1 มกราคม ค.ศ. 1933 (พ.ศ. 2476) ที่เมืองกวางโจว ประเทศสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีนเมื่ออายุได้ 17 ปี เขาและพี่สาว กู้มี่ ย้ายมาอาศัยที่เมืองเกาลูน ประเทศฮ่องกง

ในช่วงเริ่มต้นชีวิตในฮ่องกงของ กู้เจียฮุย นั้นต้องอดทนทำงานในช่วงเช้า และอาศัยช่วงเวลากลางคืนในการเรียนหนังสือ เนื่องจากฐานะการเงินที่ไม่ดีนัก ส่วน กู้มี่ ทำงานเป็นนักร้องในไนท์คลับ โดยในช่วงเวลาต่อมาเธอได้เป็นนักร้องประกอบให้กับภาพยนต์ต่างๆ ซึ่งได้รับความนิยมอย่างมาก

กู้เจียฮุย ได้รับการสนับสนุนทางการเงินจาก รัน รัน ชอว์ ให้ไปศึกษาที่ Berklee College of Music ในเมืองบอสตัน ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา จนเมื่อจบการศึกษา จึงกลับเข้าทำงานในบริษัท Shaw Brothers และบริษัท Golden Harvest ในฐานะผู้แต่งเพลงประกอบภาพยนต์

ช่วง ค.ศ. ที่ 1970 เขาได้เข้าทำงานต่อที่สถานีโทรทัศน์ TVB ในตำแหน่งผู้กำกับดนตรี โดยได้สร้างสรรค์ผลงานเพลงประกอบภาพยนต์จีน TV ที่โด่งดังร่วมกับผู้ประพันธ์เนื้อเพลงที่มีฝีมือ ได้แก่ คุณหลูกั๋วจาน (Lo Kwok Tsim) และคุณ หวงจ้าน (Wong Tsim) โดยร่วมสร้างผลงานระดับตำนานไว้มากมาย

ตลอดช่วงชีวิตของ กู้เจียฮุย ได้ประพันธ์ผลงานเพลงมากกว่า 1,200 บทเพลง โดยเขาได้รับการเชิดชูเกียรติมากมาย ได้แก่ รางวัล MBE (Member of Order of the British Empire) ในปี ค.ศ. 1982 (พ.ศ. 2525), เหรียญเชิดชู Bronze Bauhinia Star จากรัฐบาลประเทศฮ่องกง ในปี ค.ศ. 1998 (พ.ศ. 2541) เป็นต้น

ในปัจจุบัน กู้เจียฮุย ได้ใช้เวลาส่วนใหญ่อาศัยอยู่ที่เมืองแวนคูเวอร์ ประเทศแคนาดา
