About AECT. Background information on the Akha Evangelical Church in Thailand (AECT) My name is Songsak Pairumpuengsakul. I was born in January 1961. My wife name is Mrs.Yee rang (BuKa) Born in January 1960, and I have two children, a daughter is name Mss.Ezra born in October 28,1981. and a son is name Mr. Kreerati born in July 8,1983. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior on January 6, 1981. I was married on January 10, 1981. After that my wife and I came to live and work at a Christian orphanage in Mae Sai from 1981-1983. My wife was the cook and I helped take care of the kids. This was a time of much learning and spiritual growth for me. During this time I was able to travel back to my village to share the good news with my family and the people in my village. In the middle of 1983 the orphanage moved to Chiangrai and became Christian Happy Home Chiangrai. I was able to visit my village more often and seven families gave their life to Christ. From 1985-1986 I prayed fervently to be able to attend bible school in Chiangmai. During this time God gave me a vision of several thousand people drowning in a body of water holding out their hands for me to help them out. I helped them out of this water and we all held hands singing praises to God. I then preached the gospel to them and they accepted Christ and asked to be baptized. This vision lasted for three days. Once I was convinced of God’s calling for me, I left Christian Happy Home to go to bible school in Chiangmai. I started Bible school on April 30, 1986-1990 and completed a four-year degree. I praise God for saving me. I have been a Christian for over 21 years and have been in ministry for 16 years. I have been a pastor in the villages for 12 years and have started churches in 15 different regions in Thailand and 6 regions in Burma. During this time I started AECT. There are now over 21 Akha leaders under my care and I am presently starting a center for discipleship training for the Akha leaders and anyone else interested in the training. I am also starting an orphanage for Akha kids called Akha Mercy Home. I feel that in this life nothing compares to giving your life in service to God. I do not have a high education or am “accomplished” in the eyes of the world, but what I have learned from God and the blessings He has given me to see my people come to know Christ nothing compares. Please pray for my family and me and pray about becoming a part of God’s work here in Northern Thailand with the Akha tribe.
