Upon receiving your flower shipment, open the box as soon as possible and place your new flowers in a cool place. Your flowers will respond best to temperatures between 50 and 60 degrees F. If you should find your flowers slightly wilted around the outer petals, it is simply due to a lack of water while in transit to your home. Following are some proper care instructions that will help you get the most out of your newly purchased roses.

Preparation:
Choose an appropriate clean vase and fill it with fresh, room temperature water. Add the included cut-flower food to the water. All various exotic flowers shipped from Beautiful Orchids include a packet of cut-flower food. Remove any foliage that will be below the level of water in your vase. This will help discourage bacteria growth and increase the life expectancy or your flowers.

Submersion:
Fill a sink or bowl with water, the container should be large enough to thoroughly wet the stems while keeping you dry. Fully submerge the stem ends underwater and cut them at a 45-degree angle using a sharp knife, pruner or scissors. Flower stems can be cut to varying lengths, depending on the type and height of the vase in which you have chosen to showcase them. Cutting your flowers' stems at a 45-degree angle will ensure that they have plenty of surface area to absorb water and that they don't sit flat on the bottom of the vase.

Upkeep:
Water is just as important to any flowers as it is to you and me, so be sure to maintain a proper water level in your vase by topping it off every day. As if sufficient water wasn't enough, they also require clean water, so be sure to change your flower's water every 2-3 days to ensure maximum beauty and longevity.


Cut Flower Care by Flower Thailand

1. Arrange the flowers in a deep-vase filled with luke-warm water, then mix in the floral preservative provided by the florist.

2. Remove all leaves from the stem that would fall below the waterline in the vase as they will promote bacterial growth.

3. Use a knife or shears to cut an inch from the bottom of the stem while holding it under water. This allows the stem to draw in the water, instead of air.

4. Keep cut flowers and arrangements looking fresh by adding warm water to the vase every day. Always keep the vase full and change the water every three to four days.

5. For maximum flower longevity, recut the stems whenever you change the water. Keep the vase in a cool spot, away from direct sunlight and heating or cooling vents.



Care of Cut Flowers after receiving as gift by Flower Thailand

When you receive the flowers as gift, immediately place the stems at an angle of 45 degrees and cut 1 or 2 cm off the stem using a sharp knife.
Give the cutflowers clean or tap water and put them in a clean vase adding the correct amount of a preservative such as Chrysal.
If flowers appear more dull or limp or too cold on arrival, cut 5 cm off the stem.
Wrap the flowers in paper and put them in a cool place to recover for three hours.
Remove lower leaves and damaged ones.
After 3-4 days, if the flowers show dullness, cut the flowers with a sharp knife under an angle of 25 to 45 degrees. Never use a dull cutter or scissors as it will damage the stem, enabling the flower to take up any water.
Add water to the vase containing flowers or flower arrangement every day.
Put the flowers making an arrangement with vases. Vases are ideal for flowers as we can see the water level, and also cleaning the glass is easy.
Never mix fresh flowers with older flowers, as fresh flowers will be poisoned by stale water and bacteria.
While using leaf shine products, Keep them at a proper distance and spray very thinly.
Some flowers will grow 10-20 cm in the vase. Bear in mind the type of flowers you are making as an arrangement, as that can disturbs the design of the arrangement. Sometimes they get caught in the frame or construction and can not be opened sufficiently.
Keep the flowers away, developing slimy stems, as it causes the growth of bacteria in the water. Stems will become soft and rot away, e.g. Zantedeschia.
General Tips on Cut flower Care
Do not place the spring flowers in direct Sunlight.
Place the spring flowers away from fruit. Fruit gives off a natural gas that harms flowers.
If flowers starts to wilt, cut the stems an inch under cold running water, to remove air bubbles.
Care of Cut Flowers in an Arrangement
Do not overcrowd the flowers in the container.
Check the water level in the vase and replenish it frequently.
Flowers that go limp and not drinking well need to be recut.
Always discard wilted blooms.
Keep flowers away from drafts, direct sunlight, and ripening fruits, which emit ethylene gas, a substance that causes buds to remain closed, petals to have poor color, and flowers to have a shortened vase life.
