ประวัติของหนองบวกบอนคือ

หนองบวกบอนตั้งอยู่ที่ หมู่13 บ้านชัยนิเวศ อำเภอเวียงชัย ตำบลเวียงชัย จังหวัดเชียงรายแต่ก่อนหนองบวกบอนเคยเป็นป่ามาก่อน แต่มีพระได้เข้ามาพัฒนาและได้สร้างวัดขึ้นชื่อวัดกลางเวียงและชาวบ้านก่อได้ช่วยกันพัฒนาพื้นที่ป่าและสร้างหนองน้ำขึ้นเพื่อเป็นแหล่งทำมาหากินของชาวบ้านและเป็นหนองน้ำที่ชาวบ้านใช้ในการเกษตรกรอีกด้วย

        ในปัจจุบันหนองบวกบอนได้พัฒนาเป็นสวนสาธารณะแห่งหนึ่งในอำเภอเวียงชัยซึ่งจะเป็นสถานที่ที่ชาวบ้านใช้เป็นจุดรวมพลหรือนัดพบ

        ในหนองบวกบอนมีกิจจะกรรมให้ทำมากมายโดยเฉพาะตอนเช้าและตอนเย็นของแต่ละวันจะมีผู้คนมากมายมาออกกำลังกายโดยการวิ่งหรือปั่นจักรยานกัน

        และภายในหนองบวกบอนยังมีหอประชุมผู้สูงอายุที่ผู้สูงอายุช่วยกันรวบรวมเงินและสร้างขึ้นเพื่อให้เป็นที่ไว้สำหรับออกกำลังกายภายในหอประชุมนั้นก็จะมีเครื่องออกกำลังกายมากมายเปิดไว้ให้ผู้คนเข้าไปเล่นกันส่วนข้างๆหอประชุมยังมีสนามเปตองให้ได้เล่นกันอีกด้วย

       จุดชมวิวของหนองบวกบอนเป็นสถานที่ที่ได้เห็นวิวสวยๆและบรรยากาศดีมีศาลาไว้ให้นั่งพักและยังมีจุดให้อาหารปลาอีกด้วย

        หนองบวกบอนนี้ถือว่าเป็นสถานที่สำคัญแห่งหนึ่งของอำเภอเวียงชัยเพราะเป็นสถานที่ที่ชาวบ้านร่วมกันสร้างและยังเป็นที่สาธารณะเปิดให้ประชาชนได้มาใช้งานได้ตลอดเวลา
