How to prepare myself going out to NZ.
I have a chance to visit my co-advisor in Wellington, New Zealand. I planed to stay there for 4 months doing the analysis of my data and writing up the thesis. It sound good and quite interesting, right? But sometime I feel scare with what I do not know. Anyway it is time to dare me to go on by myself and I hope it will bring me to the brightness.

I started to do visa and accommodation seeking in December 2011. I am going to fly on around mid of Feb 2012.

My process of VISA is not so hard. I sent all required document to the New Zealand Embassy in Bangkok by post. The process was taken around 2-3 days and then I got it. According to 4 months staying, I got visa in the type of working (special temporary).
That's the process of visa.

Then the time of accommodation, I have searched many place nearby the Victoria university both in side and outside. The living cost is so expensive when we compare it to Europe. The cost is seem to be not more different between inside and outside of university for the weekly price. I had tried to contact the manager of apartment in many places previously but no place could make sure any thing for the available room. I felt very worried about it at that time; nevertheless I have a room to stay in NZ now.
It is accommodation apartment. I am not sure how good it is but suppose to be good one. It located on the Willis street far from Victoria university 15 min by walking (info form website but I will tell the proper time when I am being there).

Everything seem to be okey for now then I have to do more on information of Wellington for example map, market, activity, weather etc.
Shall start with what thing to when you are in Wellington (they are supposed to after main work finish)

Make sure you...
1. Visit the dynamic and interactive National Museum of NZ - Te Papa on the
waterfront.
2. Get your city bearings and some of Wellington’s best views at the Mount
Victoria Lookout.
3. Ride the historic Wellington Cable Car to the Botanic Garden.
4. A city tour is the best way to get acquainted quickly with Wellington. Enjoy the
experience with one of many local companies offering Wellington sights’ tours.
5. Four Wellington restaurants have won NZ’s Best Restaurant in the last five
years. It’s safe to say you’ll be eating very well while in Wellington!
6. Hear the birdsong and spot a tuatara as you walk through ZEALANDIA: The
Karori Sanctuary Experience.
7. Get an inside peek into Wellywood at The Weta Cave in Miramar.
8. Go stargazing and check out the amazing planetarium show at Carter
Observatory.
9. Seeking hidden treasures? Many of Wellington’s best night spots are tucked
away for your finding, such as Motel, Library or Duke Carvell’s Swan Lane
Emporium.
10. Head to Cuba Street for a slice of Bohemia, boutique shopping and some of the
best coffee in town.

That's for the overall preparation about the living but the important serious thing is my work. The good arrangment is required before going out to meet my co-advisor. Reading, recored files and planner should be prompt.

Hope everything will go well... :)
