A Day at the Sunflower Fields -- ทุ่งทานตะวัน แหม ทันสมัยเปี๊ยบ  It's approaching the end of November and in Thailand that means the sunflowers are in full bloom, especially in the province of Lopburi. Coincidentally, Lopburi is also my mom's childhood home and two of her sisters are still living in the area, so we thought it would be fun to go there for a day or two. It took only two hours to drive there, just enough for Neill to have a short nap in the car. We met one of my aunts right when we got to the city and Neill took to her almost immediately. She's got great sense of humor and is a successful business woman. (She owns 4 internet&game shops in the city and an apartment building too.) We spent the afternoon in the local zoo and Neill was, predictably, very excited.     The hotel where we stayed for the night was quite nice, and cheap too. (1,500 baht a night for a spacious "suite" with one extra bed and the breakfast buffet for me, Neill, mom and dad) This huge monkey statue is right in front of our unit and there are at least 4 of them around the hotel, for Lopburi is also known as "the monkey city" after its large monkey population through out the city and especially in the heart of it. You may also notice that it's an unusually cold morning that mom and Neill had to wear jackets. The cool weather was very welcome, though.  The sunflower fields were not too far from the city. There were actually hundreds of big and small fields along the roads around Lopburi that you can just browse and stop the car and get out to enjoy and take a picture anytime and anywhere you like. Too bad that the sky wasn't so clear that morning. It was all grey but with strangely strong sun. I was hoping to have bright blue sky with a bit of fluffy white clouds for the pictures but no such luck.     Somebody enjoyed the sunflowers a lot.    And enjoyed it more when taking pictures with grand ma and grand pa.  But didn't like being photographed with his mama too much. ... hmmm....   After the sunflower fields we went to a nearby dam where Neill fed some elephants. The water level at the dam was so high it's actually scary. Just one metre more and there could be a big flood.    On the way back to Bangkok we went past a fresh water aquarium so we stopped there for a while.  This following picture is actually from a previous trip to Rayong but I think you haven't seen it. I'll just include it here because it goes together with the upper one.   And, as Chris requests, I'll wrap it up with the latest photograph of Neill, with the new haircut, taken just a few minutes ago. Note that he just woke up so he still seems a little bit groggy. Unfortunately we have a very bad Internet system in the Mission, and I can't even open one of the pictures!! I will not say how much frustrated I am at this stage!  You will have to wait for my response till tomorrow! I'm just glad that I did get some pictures! So it seems its not only the Monkey's Khun Yai that is spoiling him!! His Aunt in the USA too!! ^ ^  I reallly like that one. "Deep " ? You're getting very creative, honey. We weighed and measured Neill this afternoon at the clinic. He weighs 18 kg and is 98 cm tall now. According to growth charts, he is both much heavier and a lot taller than 99% of all 26-month-olds in the world (yes, western ones included.) Impressive, huh?  โดย: Eeyore

Just back from the States and surprised the little devil now turns out to be a little giant.
P'pom, you should try getting him into a food commercial. Obviously, this will suit him better than the 'babymild' commercial, he once tried out.PS. As far as I remember I weight 20 Kg when I was in first or second grade. That's 6-7 years old. Our Neill is huge!! one of my medical doctor friends told me the other day that, according to the theory, approximate height of adults can be estimated from their height at age two X 2 --- this means neill can be almost 2 meters tall when he grows up.

 I've also heard about the height theory. I think Neill was about 93 - 95 cm tall when he turns two. So most probably he would be closer to 190 cm (not 2 metres, I hope) tall when he reaches adulthood.
