Well, They were not mine! Eventhough I would like to have a Hen do again (also a 3rd wedding with the same man :P)
Same as the 30th Birthday party.
As the hen do was my sis-in-law who is gonna be a bride to be within 2 weeks. And my cousin (from Andy's side) who was joining my big 3-0 gang.
We all decided to keep them simple, no crazy drinking from pubs to pubs. No dodgie, unhealthy, non-classy 'Attention-Please-It's-a-Hen-Party'
Just a precious family time in Portsmouth for the girls, and sailing time for the boys.
THE MARRIOT MEON VALLEY, PORTSMOUTH
The hotel is in Wickham area, Portsmouth. Which is not far from my brother-in-law's family at all.
Ratings : 3/5
Pros :The hotel's general service was alright, nice food, Great room service, Wonderful wide range breakfast, Great size function room, Big golf course, Good for family.
Cons : The main bar opens until 1am., far from the main road, Very limited of Twin bed rooms, Narrow swimming pool, small jacuzzi, £95 a night is a bit too much for this standard and facilities.
GIRLS ONLY
The first night we had a dinner at Wickham Wine Bar @ Wickham square.
The food there was FANTASTIC! I had Boulibasse which was traditional provencal fish and shell fish stew with toasted french bread.
And I will definitely learn how to do it!
Also the creme brulee was sooooo goood!!
The activity of the night was 'All Star Mr. and Mrs.' like on a TV. which Annna had to guess what the answers her future husband already answered about herself. And what he thought she would think he would go for about himself.
Whatever she got it right, she would get a present for each question.
I have to say, It was funnier than the TV one as James answers were very silly
A LITTLE SURPRISED
The next day was a relaxing day. We went for a swim, spa, treatments, or whatever choice of our own.
And we threw a little surprise for Anna in one of our rooms. We all provided Anna cute little presents under the theme 'Perfect Housewife'
I thought mine was naughty enough as I gave her a massaging oil and candle scent from Loccitane but turned out some were very very naughty like a whip and leopard printed G-String.
MYSTER MURDERED PARTY DINNER
We had a 'Mystery Murdered Dinner' for tonight's activity. That we had to dress up by the character we were given.
Mine was Davina Mccall (The Big Brother Presenter) Very easy actually, Just threw a little black dress on, very red lips, and leopard printed shoes.
Then the presenters gave each of us a dialog to say & drop a hint. To find out who were murdered and by whom.
The game was taking while we had a dinner which took around 3 hours.
We had our own function room, 5 courses meal, and a party for just £79 per person.
Very reasonable for a memorable night like this.
ZOE'S 30th BIRTHDAY
It was Zoe's Birthday and the boys were allowed to join us this time. Felt like it was a family day like some kind of Easter or Summer Christmas.
We went to 'The White Lion Pub' and it was good seeing William and little Oliver.
The weather was nice and sunny. Such a perfect family time.
CLOSE YOUR EYES THEN MAKE A WISH
Despite Zoe already knew her mother made a cake for her by herself. But we thought it was still good to have a make a wish moment anyway.
The cake was yummy! I had 3 pieces before dinner -_-''
CURRY NIGHT
It might doesn't sound right but it's true that we (the youngsters) went out for currys on Zoe's BD. While the oldies prefered to stay in and had a nice and quiet chat.
I was so impressed with the food and service. The food was fabulous and the service was superb. We walked in when there was no customers left and we stayed for 3 hours. Kept drinking and chatting away, but they serviced us the best til 1am.
Also gave Zoe flaming Sambuca for her birthday present.
We will recommend this restaurant to everyone who is coming to Wickham.
That was my weekend off with family do so far. And after that we went off to Bicester Village Designer Outlet in Oxford.
I will update and do the DUC later when I manage to get rid off my lazy bugs na ka.
