Below please find how powerful celebrity endorser has toward Korean purchasing power. Let's start with the most obvious item , Mobile Phone.


LG Chocolate LOve : Girls Gerneration and f(x)(SM girl band )

The classic chocolate love from LG has created two version of the ads. White for Girls' Generation and Black for f(X)
The products would probably target for male as in the ads, they are full of Cha-nee which personally i don;t really like ;(.

LG Lollipop : (Big Bang and 2ne1 )



This is considered one of the most successful ad campaign of LG. People already have a hype over the new female version of BigBang and they use this ad as their first appearance on media. With the colorful outfits and the striking hair of DARA(see attached image), people are able to recognize the artists and the products so it's a win win situation mak mak. Even CNN has a scoop talking about how celebrity endorser especially idols has influenced over the buying decision of korean especially teenagers.

SAMSUNG

The most famous and anticipated ad campaigns in Korea are Samsung ad which they have launched in different series every year from Samsung AnyBand with Boa, Tablo, Bora and Xiah DBSK. All of them also held a concert under the name " Anyband"

Korea Tourism

The slogan of this ad is Infinity Seoul. They make use of the star power of Korea most famous band, TVXQ as well as their band mate labels Super Junior and Girls' Generation. The ad itself has 3 different version for Japan, China and Korea. This ad is also very influential na. I eve saw one of the tourist gives the definition that seoul is TVXQ ;)

SUMMARY


Star power has a very high influence over the customers. Especially tween and teenagers, they willing to purchase any products that have their favorite stars face on the package. For Example na, i have never heard of this ice-cream before but when i saw my boys endorse it, i really really really want to try and buy it mak mak. This mean i am still a teenager chai mai.
and most importantly Poo-chai can really sell the products na.
