Agony in the Garden

Agony in the Garden by Jason Jenicke

I don't believe one can even imagine the agony that Jesus felt while in the Garden of Gethsemene. While Jesus was on earth as a man, He was 100% man and 100% God, knowing what His purpose was, yet feeling the intense pain of what He know was to come...

The Pieta Mary with Jesus

Jason Jenicke's version of The Pieta is both poignant and heartbreaking when we are reminded of Mary's sorrow as her son was taken down from the cross. But as Christians, we know that this was not the end of the story, for after Good Friday, when our Lord Jesus was crucified, came Easter Sunday, when the Son of God was resurrected! We know that Jesus rose from the dead over two thousand years ago, and that He still lives today!

The Visitation by Jason Jenicke

Father Vince Kirsche from the St. Lawrence Center in Lawrence, Kansas, first commissioned me to paint this portrait, for many reasons. He wanted a painting that would primarily speak to the youth, symbolic of being welcomed into the church, just as Elizabeth welcomed the visiting Mary. It is also intended to express the importance of the women's role in the church along with showing support for pro-life issues.

Mary is shown touching the belly of the pregnant Elizabeth, since the Scripture passage in Luke 1: 39-45 indicates that upon Mary's greeting, "the baby leapt in her womb." The painting is representative of what the landscape would have looked like and the trails indicate the great distance Mary traveled to reach Elizabeth.

Sermon on the Mount by Jason Jenicke

Since 2001 it has been Jason's mission to use his talents to create art that helps draw others to a more personal relationship with God. "Before each piece of art that I do, I study what I am depicting to help capture the emotion, the culture and the feel of that event. I pray and keep faith that our Lord will continue to guide me and the talents that He has given me to help glorify Him and His Son." - Jason Jenicke

Wedding at Cana by Jason Jenicke

Jesus Changes Water to Wine (John 2: 1-11)

1On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus mother was there, 2and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3When the wine was gone, Jesus mother said to him, They have no more wine.

4Dear woman, why do you involve me? Jesus replied. My time has not yet come.

5His mother said to the servants, Do whatever he tells you.

6Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.a

7Jesus said to the servants, Fill the jars with water; so they filled them to the brim.

8Then he told them, Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.

They did so, 9and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10and said, Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.

11This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed at Cana in Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.

Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him. When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt, and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt I called My Son." Matthew 2:13-25

Adoration of the Shepherds by Jason Jenicke

The Conversion of St. Paul

The conversion of Saul to Paul is one of my favorite stories in the Bible. It is so incredibly amazing how God will use people and situations in such unexpected ways, always for His glory. From his personal encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus, Saul was transformed from being one of the worst persecutors of the Christian faith to one of the most famous followers of Christ, dedicating his life to proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.
