ส้มภาษณ์ราฟาค่ะ Wednesday, 15 April 2009 R. NADAL/J. Chela 6-2, 6-3 An interview with: RAFAEL NADAL THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. What happened when you lost 11 points in a row in the first set? RAFAEL NADAL: Yeah, well, I understand the match very well. I play some game wells. I did some terrible games. In the beginning of the second, after two games, really bad. Yeah, up and down during all the match. Yeah, I have to improve the concentration in the next match. That's the important thing.
Q. Is it just a matter of not having played on clay or not having played a match in a while? RAFAEL NADAL: I don't know. I don't know. You can think (smiling). I don't know.
Q. Do you think people maybe expect you to always be perfect? RAFAEL NADAL: No. I think I never thought I am perfect. I think the people think the same as me, I'm not perfect. I won anyway. I won 6 2, 6 3 against Chela. He's really not a bad player on clay. Is a good start because I was all the time in front on the score. Yeah, I think was a comfortable win. Anyway, I have some tough moments during the match. But, no, in the end wasn't the moments where I was scared for the victory, no?
Q. You don't play anymore with the straps on the knees? RAFAEL NADAL: You never know. Maybe tomorrow I gonna put another time. We think about to take out for a while. We gonna see what's happen. So for the moment it's okay. So I happy for that.
Q. Do you remember when it was when you played without them the last time? RAFAEL NADAL: Yeah, I think last year here I played without against Ferrer. And before I don't know. One year.
Q. Does it make a difference? RAFAEL NADAL: I don't know. I have to try more matches than one, no?
Q. How important is it for you to set the tone here in Monte Carlo for the rest of the clay court season? RAFAEL NADAL: Every tournament is completely different, no? So sure the important thing is the tournament. I think, sure, is important to try to start well, to have the confidence for the rest of the clay season. But the important thing is the tournament. Is really important tournament for me. Monte Carlo is historic tournament. I would like to play good tennis and have a good result here. But if not, I gonna go to maybe Barcelona next week and try my best another time, so...
Q. How do you explain this lapse in concentration in this match? RAFAEL NADAL: I said one question ago, I don't know. Yeah, I played some up and down during all the match. Sometimes happen something like this. Trying to don't repeat for next match.
Q. What is your opinion on Murray's game on clay? What do you think he can do on clay? RAFAEL NADAL: I didn't see him yesterday. But, anyway, when one player have good results on the rest of the surfaces, he's gonna do very good results on clay, too. No question about that.
Q. Could you speak about your training routine off the court. What kind of things do you do? Do you do cycling or running? RAFAEL NADAL: Today?
Q. No. Off the court when you're training, what is your sports training routine? RAFAEL NADAL: Not much. No, not a lot of things. I run enough on court. Outside sometimes I do some bicycle. But not a lot of things, yeah.

สัมภาษณ์ลุงโทนี่ค่ะ จาก welovetennis.fr Toni Nadal: "I think Federer has made the right decision" By Audrey Riou, Thursday 16 April 2009 15:22
The rain still falling on the rock, a little distraction is key with this great interview with the uncle / coach Toni Nadal. An interview for our file GrandChelem 12.
First witness of this case "All coaches? "Toni Nadal has the distinction of being not only the uncle of the current World number 1, but an educator seeking to transmit sensitive values beyond tennis. For GrandChelem, it gave us some keys to his work with his nephew, Rafael, and bounces off the controversy that surrounds Roger Federer, and his lack of coaching.
Toni, what is it for you a coach? What is this? Today, everything is more difficult, it seems to me that the world has become more complicated and everything must be perfect. All small details help us improve on our goals and I think this idea is based on a coach. Is someone who helps you to improve, but of course I have the old mentality and I think that the importance of a coach is relative.
As a coach, you prepare a method for Rafa? I do not know if there is a special method, but in any case, I do not know. I think the most important thing is to believe in work, believe in what we do. In the end, if it works well, we can and things work well. This is fundamental, it is the only important thing.
But Toni, what qualities does it have to be a good coach? What are the keys? For me, there is a mental issue. I like the psychological aspect and I work a lot with that.
So, talking about the key mental. This idea with you always ... Since my childhood I worked in a concrete way, I always tried to make things simple and not complicate my life. I think I was rewarded. For me, the most important. I think it is difficult to specify and define all the work we did, but I can only say that the psychological work was very, very important. It's complicated to say more.
Might say that you are spiritual someone who may be an extraordinary force of inspiration? The only thing that inspired me in my life is to do a good job. First, we must understand and know what you want to understand the game from that point, the second point is to find what can lead us to understand this game In this case, we talk tennis but it could equally extrapolate this approach to all other activities. Me as a coach-teacher what interests me is to understand the game Rafael.
Can we speak of the principles that you sent your nephew or not? Yes, we can say that I have based on the principles that I just explain. In fact, I taught him to understand the game then I have marked a path: the short and long term. If you play tennis to win the championship of the Balearic Islands, this is not the same as if we play tennis to become the number one world tennis. That is what I always wanted him to understand.
As a coach Rafa, how would you describe your relationship? Our relationship is not like other coaches with their players. There was not a typical one is as parents. I have a vision of life and it is this particular vision that I have tried to show him and make him understand. Of course, sometimes we were in agreement and sometimes not, but it is clear that we does not have a normal relationship as coach and player. I am involved in the professional and personal lives of Rafael in a manner different from that of other coaches with their athletes. With a vision of life ... It's long ... We could talk about over twenty minutes, it is on! But I think that as uncle, I will strive to always give the best to Rafa and not just in sports but also personal. Rafa is a normal person. Like everyone else, he has a girlfriend, he has his parents, his friends, he suffers, he is happy. I taught him my vision of human relations.
The most important value that you've sent it? At the level of tennis, the most important thing that I've told him to believe it at work, have respect for everything: people, equipment used, the other players. We must be grateful for life, that's fundamental.
You consider that Federer is still number one but what do you think of the fact that he did not coach? It's perfect! I think it's important to have a coach during the training process of the player but if it is already performing, I do not think this is fundamental. I am pragmatic and I think Federer has always been managed as well. He made the right decision.
Finally, Toni, have you have a coach? (He laughs a lot) No! Not at all! It would not be too logical (He laughs even more).
