Rafa: I'm relieved that Uncle Toni is OK
Hi Everyone,
Again I am writing this blog post late, after a nice dinner with all the Spanish players here in Melbourne. Our new Davis Cup captain took us out for dinner all of us and we had a great time all together. I think Albert (Costa) is a great guy and will be a great captain. We all have a great relationship with him and he is very close to us. A guy really, really down to Earth and someone who knows us and understand us very well. For me with him this is not a start since I know him for many years and we have seen and talked to each other a lot in these months, but now he is officially the captain and it is great.
For the rest, I had an "early day". I mean I hit in the morning today and left the site pretty early too. I had some lunch on-site with Juan Monaco and some friends of his that came to Melbourne. Funny lunch and you can imagine we talked about many things including football (soccer), When you have Argentineans and Spaniards, for sure that at some point we are going to talk about football.
And now that he is better I can say it. My uncle Toni had a problem in his back the other day. He had to stay the whole day in bed and the doctors had to treat him. I felt really bad for him. He made a great effort yesterday to come to the match. He almost couldn't move since he had a sciatic (hope this is the right word). He is much better now and should be OK tomorrow to be with us on court at the box.
And tomorrow I am back to play day match. It will be around 2pm local time and I am really looking forward to it.
Many thanks
Rafa

Hi Rafa, Do you like to watch The Simpsons? If so, who is your favourite character? Would you consider your character appearing on the show? Thank you and Vamos Rafa! Christine RN: No, I don't really watch them. Sometimes I have but I don't usually do.
I read in John McEnroe's autobiography that he used to feel completely alone out on court. Do you ever feel this way? Janet, UK RN: No, I never feel alone. I have my team there and I am lucky to have many fans that I feel during play.

Q: Rafa, are you friends with any Australian players?? M Williams Yes, I get along well with Lleyton. He has always been very nice with me although he beat me too easily at golf last year.
Rafa, hope you wont get mad! What's your ideal age for marriage? If that time comes, hope its Xisca you'll bring at the altar ... you two look great together. Gwen
Thanks. I don't answer these kind of questions. Hope you understand. Thanks
G'day, Rafa. I'm wondering if you get any time to fish in Australian waters or some of the other countries you travel to when you are on tour? You mentioned you liked fishing to relax. Michael
No, unfortunately no time. You know I love fishing but the competition doesn't leave you time for things like this.
Hi Rafa. Who is your favourite footballer? Uday Gajare
I think Lionel Messi is playing the best right now.
G'day Rafa. Congratulations on your Wimbledon breakthrough last year, that was the best tennis match I have ever seen! Some of my friends think you need to do some more weights with your right arm so it can catch up to your huge left arm! Clancy
Hi, thanks a lot. I don't do much weights, only during the pre-season, so it will be tough since I play with my left hand.
Smiling Rafa, my champ! I have followed you for many years now and I really wonder why you are always late! You have given a lot of comments like I was late for my flight, late for practice, late for that meeting and so on; but you never mention WHY you are late. Liv in Norway
It is just the way it is. But I don't remember being late for practice. There I am always early.
Why do you put on your watch right after a match has ended? Do you do that because it has a special meaning to you, because of commercial reasons or...? Cindy
It is part of the things I have and I also have a contract with Time Force so that's the reason why.
Rafa, please be honest. How do you really feel knowing that millions of girls and women find you extremely sexy and even look for men that look like you? People like Safin and Robredo accept they're sexy, why can't you? Cedrine, UK
I don't think I am like that. I do know I have more followers and fans now than five years ago. I suppose it helps the fact that I am seen a lot on TV.
Rafa, Whats your favourite flavour of ice cream? Mandy
Cookies and cream. Too good.
Hi Rafael, Do you wonder what it is like to be just a normal guy? Do you ever want to just go to the movies, dinner even a football game (whatever code) without the pressure and expectation that comes form being in the spotlight? Paul Krause
I know what it's like since I am one. I do those things back at home and don't have the spotlight. Easy.

The office of Nadal
'All temblamos in a match point'
1. In an interview, your uncle Toni says there will be some changes in your game, will we see these changes in Australia?
Hello, well I'm working on them as always. You may be too much importance to these comments. It is normal for developed and changed to try to improve. Furthermore, I would say nothing new.
2. What would you like more, again winning Roland Garros and Wimbledon, or keep the number 1 at the end of the year? I hope you get all three and many more. A greeting. Laura.
Hi Laura, clear that the three, perhaps more to win Roland Garros and Wimbledon and I think more important to be number 1. After all, a thing or two about what comes with another. Almost no safe, huh? Anyway, this is not my reasoning.
3. Rafa, a question about your great concentration. How to address the important points? Trying to forget what time the game is or, rather, what you play in them helps to give the best of you? Do not have a shaky andalusia 'Match Point' at the end of Wimblendon? Congratulations!
Every point is important, as they say, must go through. There are more important than others, but equally, we have to play them all. All temblamos in 'Match Point' is normal, but the important thing is learning to master the situation and know the play well.
4. Hi Rafa. The other day I was reading the statements of Pedro Munoz in which came to say that if there was bad rolls between the federation and the players is that you and Toni lideráis a campaign against him and other players will follow. Do you think it is going to re-submit to elections again? And in that case. Do you think that one day can be separated so that the positions end up abandoning the Spanish team or the Spanish team this for you over the office? A hug.
I prefer not to talk over this matter. Thank you for understanding. However, playing for my country is an honor and that is that much.
5. Hello, Rafa! I could say if you are going to participate in the new tournament in Belgrade in May, organized by Djokovic. I am a Serb and I would love to see you play live. Cheers and good luck.
No, I can not go because I have a very full agenda in this tournament and not play. But you should come to Spain to see us against your country in the Davis Cup. Thank you.
6. Good phenomenon. I wonder what bands you like and if you're hooked to a television series.
I love Van Gogh's ear and I am following the series Lost, which I like.
7. Hi Rafa, a curiosity, what do you look at where the balls will be selected to serve? Good luck.
Hey, look, take this because they are newer to get better.
8. First wish you luck this season. I've seen that in the ATP list items have doubled to all the players, why is it the change of the ATP points? How many points they give you now to win a Grand Slam?
Not entirely so. They have made a change in scoring and is getting a look at this issue. The Grand Slams are still the same points, which are twice the Masters Series.
9. Te saludo desde Ecuador. Last season played against Nico Lapentti for the first time, was a great first set and won the second long. Is it hard to play against someone for the first time? Do you see your videos or coach is responsible for reviewing the way they play? Good tournament.
Hey, I played in Bastad (Sweden) v Nico Lapentti, and I won in the quarter-finals with a 'tie break' in the third harsh. I remember a 'passing' spectacular during the game ... Anyway, to answer your question, I do not usually watch videos.
