During the past 7 years, Ive been fortunate enough to visit many hotels and resorts throughout the country.. ranging from the cozy and kind-to-the-pocket hotels to the luxurious grandeur resorts which offer their modest rooms at rates of ten thousand baht. This magazine issue therefore features the 10 most luxurious resorts which I have taken photos of.. and in my opinion, are the best luxurious hotels or resorts that impressed me most.

This resort is located on the foot of the hill on Kamala beach, Phuket. Experience the extraordinary once you enter its grand lobby and the accommodation rooms on the hill slope facing the beautiful Andaman sea. The most expensive units perhaps are the Ceilo Residence and the Dima Spa Suite which are incredibly spacious, with a private pool and various corners in the unit to admire the breath-taking view of the sea. The resorts dining area boasts a sea view from a high angle and a splendid point to admire the sunset.

9. The Shore at Katathani, Phuket
This luxurious setting is located on Kata Noi beach, Phuket. What impressed me most with The Shore is that its Pool Villa has all the qualities a decent Pool Villa should have.. maximum privacy and a scenic view. Rare to find elsewhere, its Pool Villa sits on a hill side and yet it is next to the pristine beach--making a dip in the sea easily accessible. The staff are highly attentive and a variety of tasty breakfast is available.

8. Pimalai Resort and Spa, Krabi
A typical journey to Lanta Island, Krabi would take two connecting boat rides from the main shore. However, for guests of the Pimalai Resort and Spa, a private speedboat takes them directly to the resort during high tourist seasons when the sea is not rough. This resort is a luxurious setting with several types of rooms to opt for. But my favorite would probably be the Pool Villa which is tucked on a hill side with maximum privacy and a magnificent high angle view of the sea. An outdoor activity not to be missed here is coral diving at the Five Islands (Koh Ha) with the convenience of the resorts speedboat.

7. The Naka, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Phuket
Primely located on Naka Yai Island, Phuket, Ive visited this resort already for the third time. The island is only a five-minute speedboat journey away from the mainland, departing from the Ao Po Grand Marina pier. The accommodation units, landscape and central facilities in the resort are tastefully designed. The resort is also nestled in natural beauty, an excellent retreat to escape the hectic urban life and get in touch with nature.

6. Paradee Koh Samed
My visit to Paradee earlier this year was my first ever trip to Koh Samed. What intrigued me the most was that Paradee is situated on one of the most stunning beaches. Ao Kiew on a fine day.. boasts crystal clear sea and pristine white sandy beach.. A stroll along the beach with a dip in the sea is a reminiscent of paradise. The rooms at the resort are elegantly designed amidst the natural surroundings. The resorts most exclusive unit, Suite Villa, in particular, sits right on the seaside enjoying the magnificent view of Ao Kiew.

The design of their accommodations make much use of wooden décor.. giving a warm and comforting ambience. Each unit is incredibly spacious with a private swimming pool, a full living luxury in tucked away in natural beauty, not to mention the exceptional staff service. Other facilities in the resort include an outdoor movie theater, an eye-catching playground as well as an observatory for star gazing.

This luxurious resort is the only one on the list without a private pool. However, it exudes an adventurous feeling from the warm and welcoming tent-like accommodation units. The staff hospitality is beyond all expectations. The resorts outdoor experience offers a long lasting impression on the guests. The Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, Chiang Rai is hidden in the valleys between Thailand and Myanmar with the Ruak River as a natural boarder.
