กำหนดจัดในวันขึ้น 1-9 ค่ำ เดือน 9 ของจีน จะอยู่ในช่วงเดือนกันยายน-ตุลาคมของทุกปี ระหว่างถือศีลกินผัก ชาวบ้านจะไปรับอาหารจากศาลเจ้า มีพิธีกรรมตามความเชื่อ เช่น ลุยไฟ ไต่บันไดมีด ฯลฯ มีการแห่เจ้าไปตามถนนต่างๆ โดยชาวบ้านสองฝั่งถนนจะจุดปะทัดตลอดสาย ประเพณีกินเจนี้ถือว่าเป็นการอุทิศความดีให้กับพระและเทวดาฟ้าดินเพื่อให้พระคุ้มครองชาวภูเก็ตและเกาะภูเก็ตตลอดไป
