I've got this recipe from the book I bought in Singapore...
Ingredients:
450g cooking apples, roughly chopped (I use granny smith) 50g raisins 50g caster sugar 1 tsp ground cinnamon zest of 1 lemon
Place all ingredients in a saucepan and heat over a low heat until reduced ,thickened..stir occasionally.Leave to cool.
200g plain four 250g soft light brown sugar 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda 150g rolled oat 150g butter, melted
Mix all ingredients together until combined well and crumbly. Then spread half into the prepared tin ,press it down (8*8 square tin ,lightly oiled and lined with baking paper) .Spread over the apple mixture and sprinkle over the remaining flour mixture and press down slightly .Bake in the preheated oven (190c /gas)for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
