Something caught my eyes that many folks wouldnt have noticed about the royal wedding today. Ive seen a lot of websites call Cressida Bonass (Prince Harrys ex and a guest at the wedding) dress a rainbow, bohemian, or Aztec print dress. Well, its not. It was designed by Eponine London and is described as a tribal dress from northern Thailand.
The reality is that it is a Hmong dress from northern Thailand. The combination of the patterns, colors, embroidery, material, and hanging trinkets is distinctly Hmong. I am sure Eponine London chose the material from Hmong markets in Thailand and then sewed the dress together, and Im glad Cressida wore it and pulled it off so well, but lets call it what it is: a Hmong dress.
A Hmong dress at a royal wedding, how cool is that?
