To answer your question: ================================== When I was in highschool which has been always ranked defaultedly as #1 in the country, there were 30 male classmates and 20 female classmates.
During college years, in my class, numbers of male students were still higher (87:78). Similar trends were also observed in medical schools and engineering schools throughout the country.
Few years passed, the trends have reversed.
To answer k. r k i 's question about acceptance, well personally I'm absolutely OK and accepting intelligence among girls. And I found that would be more beneficial than harmful.
Anyway, for the Thai society in general, it might not be that liberal. It may take some time until we have absolutely equal "rights" between the two genders.
