F35- JSF - ยอดเครื่องบินรบที่ยังคงมีปัญหา

ใครนึกหน้าตาไม่ออกให้ลองนึกถึงเครื่องบินรบใน Die-Hard4 ที่ออกมาช่วงท้ายๆไว้ละกันครับ F35- Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) หนึ่งในอภิมหาโครงการเครื่องบินรบยุคที่5 (นอกจาก F22-Raptor) ที่กำลังถูกคาดหวังจากกองทัพสหรัฐและนานาประเทศที่กำลังร่วมลงขันพัฒนาเพื่อหวังจะเอามาทดแทนเครื่องบินยุคที่4 อย่าง F15, F16, F18 ที่กำลังจะต้องปลดประจำการจำนวนมาก รวมถึงภาคีสมาชิกนาโต้ และอีกหลายประเทศ

F35 คนเก่งของเราพึ่งผ่านการทดสอบการบินจริงรอบที่ 19 ไปเมื่อต้นเพือน พค 2009 ที่ผ่านมานี่เอง แต่ก็เจอปัญหายุบหยับไม่น้อย จนต้องLanding ฉุกเฉิน ซึ่งไม่เคยเกิดขึ้นในการทดสอบบินก่อนหน้าเลยซึ่งรวบรวมสารพันปัญหาของF 35 ที่มีตั้งแต่เริ่มจนถึงปัจจุบันให้ฟังคร่าวๆ พอลุ้นว่ามันจะผ่านโครงการได้ตลอดรอดฝั่งรึเปล่า   เอาเฉพาะปัญหาเด่นๆ 

 1. ปัญหาระบบ EHAs

Lockheed Martin technicians identify a component in the 270-power
supply as the culprit in the near-accident. The JSF’s new technology
includes new electro-hydrostatic actuators (EHAs) for the flight
control system, replacing more conventional hydraulic systems. 

“The electro-hydrostatic actuators, or EHAs, are another excellent
example of risk reduction we’reaccomplishing on AA-1. This is the
first real electric jet. The flight control actuators, while they have
internal closed-loop hydraulic systems, are controlled and driven by
electricity—not hydraulics. The F-35 is the only military aircraft
flying with such a system. We proved that the approach works on six
flights of the AFTI F-16 during the concept demonstration phase of the
JSF program.

ทีมวิศวกร มุ่งประเด็นไปที่ระบบจ่ายพลังงานขนาด 270w เป็หนึ่งในสาเหตของการล้มเหลวของระบบอิเล็กโทร-ไฮโดรลิกในระบบควบคุมการบิน (EHAs) ซึ่งระบบนี้ถูกการันตีในปี2007 และออกแบบมาเพื่อเครื่อง F35 โดนเฉพาะ (เป็นอากาศยานทางทหารแบบแรกที่ใช้ระบบนี้)

2.Engine problems

เครื่องยนต์อันทรงพลัง Pratt & Whitney F135 engine

The F-35C naval variant’s Hamilton Sundstrand power generator was
mistakenly designed to only 65% of the required electric output. To
accommodate the required increase, it will also be necessary to
redesign the gearbox for the standard Pratt & Whitney F135 engine,
which will be fitted into the conventional F-35A version as well as the
naval F-35C. The contract announced by the US Department of Defense in
August 2007 says that this engine update won’t be ready for use until
the end of 2009, which is almost the beginning of low-rate initial
production

ภายใต้การผลิต ของแพลต/วินนีย์ เครื่องยนต์ F135 นั้นให้พลังงานได้เพียง 65% ของระดับความต้องการ ซึ่งเกิดจากความผิดพลาดในการออกแบบชุดเกียร์เครื่องยนต์ และตอนแรกคาดว่าอาจทำให้ต้องเลื่อนการทดสอบไปเกือบสิ้นปี 2009  (ซึ่งเป็นช่วงที่ควรเริ่มเข้าสายการผลิตขั้นต่ำแล้วด้วยซ้ำ) แต่ยังไงก็ตามเครื่องยนต์ชุดเกียร์ใหม่ที่ออกแบบได้เดินเครื่องอีกครั้งเร็วกว่าที่กำหนด ทำให้สามารถเริ่มทดสอบใหม่ได้ในเวลาไม่นานนัก

 3. F135 เครื่องยนต์แรงเกิน (ซะงั้น)

ตามข่าวเลยครับ หลังจากแก้ปัญหาเรื่องชุดเกียร์และเพลาใบพัดที่มีปัญหาโครงสร้างแล้วเจ้าเครื่องยนต์ F135 นี่ดันแสดงพลังได้มหาศาลเกินกว่าที่ใครๆคาดคิดไว้ตอนแรก (ประเมินไว้ที่ 40,000 ปอนด์) กลายเป็นมากกว่า 41,000 ปอนด์ ซึ่งส่งผลต่อโครงสร้างทางกายภาพของอุปกรณ์อื่นๆที่ทนไม่ได้ เช่นอุปกรณ์ที่ประกอบด้วยโครงอลูมิเนียมน้ำหนักเบา  ซึ่งส่งผลให้ต้องมีการออกแบบและเปลี่ยนวัสดุหลายอย่างในเครื่องบิน

4. การเปลี่ยนแปลงยุทธศาสตร์ทางทหารของ US

Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR). This is a planning
exercise that takes into account all the nations military and civil
resources as applied to a list of potential opponents and in wars that
could break out in the next decade. This analysis is used to determine
what weapons will be needed in the future. The QDR also has to take
into account the "guidance" from the president and Congress. The air
force believes that a more optimistic (about world peace) government
will provide guidance that indicates a need for fewer F-35s (currently
the air force plans to buy 1,763.)

Another problem is that many people, including some generals in the
air force, believe that its next generation fighter will not have a
pilot on board. Many air force generals admit that the F-35 is probably
the last manned fighter. But some believe that the F-35 will be facing
stiff competition from pilotless fighters before F-35 production is
scheduled to end in 2034.

 ยุทธศาสตร์การรบด้วยอากาศยานไร้คนขับอย่าง UAV, Drone ติดอาวุธ กลายเป็นเรื่องที่แพร่หลายและได้รับความสนับสนุนขึ้นเรื่อยๆจากเหล่านายพลและผู้บังคับบัญชาหลายท่าน ซึ่งคาดการณ์ว่าในยุคสมัยหน้า Drone เหล่านี้จะมีบทบาทสูงขึ้น และเริ่มคลายความสนใจในการสนับสนุนโครงการ F35  และจำกัดจำนวนความต้องการลงค่อนข้างมาก ปัจจุบันมีความต้องการอยู่ที่ 1763 ลำ ซึ่งหากตัดลงจะทำให้ราคาต่อเครื่องยิ่งสูงขึ้นอย่างมาก (อาจประสบผลเช่นเดียวกับ F22 ก็ได้ใครจะรู้ )

นกเหล็กตัวนี้จะได้ประจำการเมืองไทย อาจจะในอีกยี่สิบปีข้างหน้าก็ได้ใครจะรู้  (โอมขอให้มีตัง  )
