ปีใหม่ปีนี้เราสองคนตั้งใจว่าจะไปเที่ยวลังกาวีกัน แต่เช็คราคาโรงแรมแล้วถอยดีกว่า
เล่นอัพราคากัน 3-4 เท่า เราก็เลยเปลี่ยนที่หมายใหม่ซึ่งก็ใกล้กับลังกาวีนี่เอง
คือ ปีนัง ต่อด้วยขับรถไปเที่ยวคาเมรอนไฮแลนดส์กันต่อ


(29 ธ.ค. 53) เรานั่ง FD3545 ออกจากสุวรรณภูมิ 14:15 ถึงปีนัง 16:55
ช่วงนี้ติดใจ Air Asia เพราะตรงต่อเวลามาก ไม่มีดีเลย์


ถึงปีนังเราติดต่อเคาเตอร์แท๊กซี่ แจ้งว่าจะไป Yeng Keng Hotel, George Town
เราต้องเสียค่าแท๊กซี่ที่เคาเตอร์เลย เจ้าหน้าที่จะให้สลิป
เราจึงเดินออกไปด้านนอก แล้วเอาสลิปให้คนขับแท๊กซี่อีกครั้งนึง
ค่าแท๊กซี่ 47 RM (462.95 บาท)


หรือถ้าใครอยากจะนั่งรถ Rapid Penang Bus ก็สามารถนั่งรสบัสสาย 401E
จากสนามบินมาลงที่ Komtar ราคาตั๋วคนละ 2.70 RM ใช้เวลาเกือบ 1 ชม.
Komtar เป็นท่ารถใหญ่ จะไปไหนมาไหนก็ให้มาขึ้นรถที่นี่
จาก Komtar เดินไป Yeng Keng ประมาณ 1.2 กม. 15 นาที
ใกล้ๆ Komtar ก็จะมี Tune Hotel อีกแห่งนึง

มาถึงโรงแรมเราก็เย็นแล้ว จริงๆเราไม่มีแพลนสำหรับวันนี้
ก็นั่งเล่นกันพักนึง แล้วจึงเดินออกไปหาอะไรทานกัน
รวมทั้งซื้อน้ำดื่มด้วย

(30 ธ.ค. 53) เช้าวันนี้เราตื่นสาย เมื่อคืนนอนหลับไม่ค่อยสนิท
ทานอาหารเช้าเสร็จมานั่งเล่น หาข้อมูลพลางๆ
ฆ่าเวลา เพราะคุณสามีต้องตอบอีเมล์งานก่อน


กว่าจะได้ออกมาเดินเที่ยวก็หลังเที่ยงแล้ว
ออกจากโรงแรมเราก็หันซ้ายเดินตามแผนที่

A prime example of Teochew architecture,
the templewas built in1855 and moved to
itspresent site in 1870. In2006,
thetemple received the Award of the Merit
UNESCO Asia-Pacific for Culture Heritage
Conservation. The temple is also known as
the Han Jiang Teochew Ancestral Temple.

Built in 1883, it is the oldest Hindu temple
in George Town. It began as a humble
Hindu shrine dedicated to Sri Muthu Mariamman.
A distinctive feature of the temple is its gopuram
with 38 exquisitely carved Hindu deities.

King Street Temples, like the historical exclave of Lebuh Armenian,
represent the diversity of the Chinese communities that settled
in Penang during the 18th century. Along King Street, one will
discover the subtlely of the Cantonese and the Hakka, reflected
in the Temples' architecture and its interior artefacts.

This humble but magnificent abode at
Lebuh King once belonged to Penang
tycoon Yap Chor Ee, the founder of
Ban Hin Lee bank. It was recently
turned into a themed restaurant.

This was the previous social venue for
Penang’s elite back in the 1880’s. Its classic
colonial elegance was the backdrop for a
scene in the movie, Anna and the King.
Located nearby is an ornate fountain which
was presented to the public of Penang by
Koh Seang Tat in 1883.

Built in 1903, this is the headquarters of
the Penang Island Municipal Council. A
World War I monument for fallen soldiers
is also located here.

The Cenotaph, built in 1922 a monument to
comemorate those who perished in World War II,
Siam-Burmah Railway, Malayan Emergency,
Indonesian Confrontation & Re-Insugency Period
between 1914 to 1968

Built when Captain Francis Light first
landed on Penang, this ancient sentinel
of George Town stands guard over the
island’s cape. Visiting hours are 9am -
6pm daily and closed on Sundays.

The 60-foot clock tower, commissioned
by the wealthy Cheah Chen Eok, was
built in 1897 to commemorate Queen
Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. Each foot
represents a year in the Queen’s reign.

These exquisite 19th century buildings
were formerly the Police Court and are
now the venue for State Assemblies.
