It is nothing personal

In Divine Order is what we say when things happen that are unexplanble or something we do not understand. With time all is made clear and we understand that whatever happens was supposed to have happened at that time. The reason we suffer from these events is that we look at them as personal events and not just as happenings which we have no control of.

We all have experienced things in life which has left us scratching our heads like sudden infatuation of things or persons, deja Vu and the familiarity we feel for things we have never seen and people we have never met before. My question is- is it really true that we have never seen this or is it that our cellular memory has been jarred from a prior familiarity from a remore existence, yes I am talking of reincarnation.

When I visited places where I had lived in the past experienced by hypnotic regression, the thing which impressed me was that even though I had not seen the place in this life, I was struck by the difference in the appearance of the terrain affected by the passage of time. I was told that I had a life in Venice when the city was being built. Knowing me, I have no recollection of the latin languages and have had difficulty in speaking and understanding the language. When I am in Venice, will I find the landscape different or will I not remember anything of how it was? The person who was working on me spent a good bit of time seeing Venice deveop through my eyes but I do not remember any of it. My experiences are different in nature than most. I am empathic and lately I have experienced clairvoyance but it is sporadic at best.

Getting back to my discourse, I am wondering why this is the time and place for me to have deeper understanding of this cosmic experience. Maybe being a Hindu by birth gave me exposures that I would not have experienced in other religions, and maybe that was/is my contract for this life to understand divine order, realize that is nothing personal in things that happen to us and love is everywhere and unconditional love is the best love to have and give.

It is easy to say be detatched, but a lot harder to actually practice it since you have to be not only an actor in the divine play but also an observer of the events without attachment. 

I came upon my devotion to Lord Shiva and Goddess Kali who I consider my divine mother, in a rather circuitous way but I am sure I was guided to it by the divine hand!!!.

Sanur

The pictured painting is from the website of travel writer Harold Stephens, an interesting sounding fellow.

Another painting of Le Mayeur's called "Garden at Sanur" which sold for $A860,000 after an 80 year old Dutch born woman once friendly with Le Mayeur ran out of dosh in the Northern Queensland bush. According to The Age, the painting is of his wife, the famous Balinese dancer Ni Pollok, in various poses as if among a group of bare-breasted Balinese women gathering frangipani petals in their garden. His house is a museum in Sanur. Baliblog's take on it is here.

Set in a lush tropical garden of hibiscus and bougainvillea and adorned with statues, the gallery contains 92 paintings captioned in English and Indonesian, local artifacts, and some superb specimens of traditional Balinese carvings. Later works dramatically capture the people and scenes of Bali; earlier paintings, which depict Le Mayeur's extensive travels around Europe, tend to be in poor condition. Some paintings were executed on rough canvas made of woven palm leaves which Le Mayeur was forced to use during the Japanese occupation. The dark interior makes it difficult to view the works, but the stunning portraits and photographs of Ni Polok are the highlights of the museum.

Le Mayeur first settled in the village of Klandis, east of Denpasar, where he met Ni Polok, a star legong dancer and famed beauty. She agreed to model for Le Mayeur and became the subject of a number of his paintings, bringing him great success in exhibitions in Singapore. To the astonishment of the Balinese villagers who so feared the sea, the painter bought an isolated plot of land right on the beach at Sanur, where he built an elegant Balinese-style home. The artist painted during the day and at night entertained other gregarious travelers, providing them with huge Balinese feasts, dance performances, and the opportunity to purchase his paintings as a memento of their visit.

เป็นรูปการให้ความสำคํญ เรีองการแต่งงาน เริ่มตั้งแต่พระศิวะ 

มาแต่งงานกับ พระนางปาร์วตี ( Shiva& Parvati ) ที่แต่ละ แกลเลอรี่

จะต้องมีให้ชม รามา ชินตะ การแต่งงานของพระราม และนางสีดา

พอมาถึงตรงนี้ดิฉันเริ่มเข้าใจผู้ที่นับถือศาสนาฮินดูเข้ามานิดหนึ่ง คือ

การยอมรับ ว่าการแต่งงานและพิธีการเป็นเรื่องจำเป็นต้องมีในวิถีชีวิตมนุษย์ที่สมบูรณ์แบบ

บาหลีจึงมีจุดขายเรื่องการจัดงานสมรส

และการแสดง ยามค่ำคืนที่นักท่องเที่ยวมาเรียนรู้ศิลปวัฒนธรรม

รวมทั้งการร่ายรำ ที่ส่งผลไปถึงการแกะสลักไม้ที่เป็นรูป

ท่าร่ายรำแบบต่างๆที่งดงาม ที่คนไทยอยากได้เป็นของฝาก จากบาหลี แต่ตอนนี้ความนิยมจะอยู่ที่ยีราฟไม้ที่คอและขายาว

และรายละเอียด ข้อมูลการเดินทาง การเล่าเรื่องบาหลี ก็จะมีรายละเอียด ค่อนข้าง สมบูรณ์ การทำ Mapping การเดินทาง 

วันแรกๆดิฉันบอกเขาว่าเราน่าจะไปดูนิทรรศการที่ Jimbaran, Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia เขาตอบว่าสั่งรถไว้แล้วจะพาดิฉันไปดูภูเขาไฟ Bartur ไปดูทุ่งนา 

และไปดูโรงงานบาติค แกะสลักไม้ และ๊ิี Ubud เมืองศิลป กลางๆบาหลี

ดูจะสมบูรณ์ กว่าคุณหมอทิศานาถ เพราะเขาจะ ไม่สนใจรายละเอียด

แต่จะใช้วิธีถาม และเก็บภาพ แต่ไม่มีการเผยแพร่ งานวิชาการก็เช่นเดียวกัน มีการเดินทางมาศึกษาบาหลี ดูงาน ท่องเที่ยวแต่ไม่ค่อยให้อะไรนัก สำหรับคนอ่านที่เป็นคนไทย บาหลี

มีชาติยูโรป เริ่มจจาก ประเทศ ปอร์ตุเกส อังกฤษ ฝรั่งเศส เบลเยี่ยม ที่เป็นนักล่าอาณานิคม เมื่อ400 กว่าปีก่อนปอเชีย อินเดีย และจีนตามมาด้วย ชาวดัชท์ จากเนเธอแลนด์( Hollanda ) เข้าไปทำการค้าเครื่องเทศ คงจำกันได้ และอาศัยอยู่อย่างถาวรมาหลายร้อยปี และเคยมีการนองเลือดกันมาแล้วประมาณปี2449

การปกครองของอินโดเนเชีย มีสุลต่านปกครอง เมืองเดนปาซาร์ ที่อยู่ทางใต้ และมีสนามบินชื่อ นูราห์ ไร ที่ดิฉัน มาเยือนเป็นครั้งแรก 

ก็เป็นเมืองประวัติศาสตร์ของบาหลี ในการสู้รบ ของชาวถิ่นกับผู้รุกราน

ชาติตะวันตกมาแล้ว ทหารชาวดัชท์ 3 กองพัน ยกพลขึ้นหาด Sanur

19 กันยายน 2449 ทหารฮอลันดา 3 กองพัน ยกพลขึ้นบกที่ชายหาดซานูร์ แล้วรุกคืบสู่เดนปาซาร์ หัวเมืองหลักของเกาะบาหลี ซึ่งยามนั้นปกครองแบบนครรัฐ แต่ละรัฐหรือเมืองมีสุลต่านของตนเอง เช่น สุลต่านบาดุง ราชาแห่งเดนปาซาร์ผู้ไม่ยอมค้อมหัวให้ศัตรูผู้รุกราน เมื่อรู้ว่านักรบถือกริชของพระองค์มิอาจต้านทานฮอลันดาไว้ได้ ก็ทรงรักษาโบราณราชประเพณี ที่ราชนิกุลบาหลีไม่เคยยอมจำนนต่อศัตรู เพื่อรักษาพระเกียรติยศ ความสัตย์ซื่อ และเอกภาพของบาหลีไว้ ทรงประกาศกร้าวที่จะดำเนินนำข้าราชบริพาร พระบรมวงศานุวงศ์ เจ้าจอมหม่อมห้าม กระทั่งเหล่านางสนมกำนัลใน ไม่เว้นแม้แต่เด็กและคนชรา...ออกไปเผชิญหน้ากับข้าศึกด้วยพระองค์เอง

9 นาฬิกา วันที่ 20 กันยายน 2449 ดร.เอช.เอ็ม. ฟาน วีด (Dr.H.M.van Weede) ชาวฮอลันดาผู้เห็นเหตุการณ์ที่ถนนหน้าพระราชวังเดนปาซาร์เล่าถึงโศกนาฏกรรมที่เขาต้องจดจำไปชั่วชีวิต ไว้ในหนังสือ Indies Travel Memories ตอนหนึ่งว่า

...มันเป็นภาพที่น่าสะเทือนใจ เมื่อสุลต่านและราชโอรสพร้อมด้วยเหล่าผู้ตามเสด็จ...ผ้าโพกศีรษะขาวของพวกเขาประพรมน้ำอบหอมกรุ่นทุกคนมีกริชซึ่งประดับอัญมณีที่ด้าม บางคนมีหอกเป็นศัตราวุธ นางสนมบางคนอุ้มเด็กทารกไว้ในอ้อมแขน เดินมุ่งตรงไปอย่างไม่เกรงภัยอันตรายใดๆ...นายทหารชาวดัตช์(ฮอลันดา) และล่ามพยายามครั้งแล้วครั้งเล่า ที่จะบอกให้ขบวนแถวของสุลต่าน หยุดเดินมุ่งตรงมายังกองทหารของเรา แต่เปล่าประโยชน์บัดนี้เขาได้ตระหนักแล้วว่า กำลังเผชิญหน้ากับกลุ่มชนผู้ปรารถนาความตายโดยแท้...

...กระสุนชุดแรกจากปืนไรเฟิลระเบิดออกไป เมื่อคนในขบวนแถววิ่งชูกริชหมายเข้าจ้วงแทงเหล่าทหาร ภาพที่ปรากฏขึ้นเบื้องหน้าขณะนั้นชวนให้ขนพองสยองเกล้า องค์สุลต่านและข้าราชบริพารแถวหน้าสุดทรุดตัวล้มลงกองกับพื้นถนน เหล่าสนมกำนัลในแอ่นอกถลาเข้ารับกระสุนราวกับปรารถนาความตายเป็นที่สุด...นางสนมบางคนโยนเหรียญทองและอัญมณีล้ำค่าให้ทหารดัตช์เป็นค่าจ้าง ที่ส่งดวงวิญญาณของเธอสู่สรวงสวรรค์ใครยังไม่ถูกยิงตาย ก็เอากริชประดับเพชรนิลจินดาที่เคียนเอวมา จ้วงแทงตนเองตายอย่างน่าสยดสยอง และบ้างก็วิ่งไปนอนตายกองทับถมพระศพขององค์สุลต่านเอาไว้ ไม่ให้ใครมาแย่งชิงเอาพระศพไปได้...

หลังจากนั้นทหารฮอลันดาใช้ปืนใหญ่ระดมยิงพระราชวังเดนปาซาร์พังพินาศ ขณะที่มีชาวบ้านบางส่วนนั่งเฝ้าพระศพราชาบาดุง ที่มีเพียงเสื่อมอซอผืนหนึ่งห่อเอาไว้ โดยมีทหารฮอลันดาเริงร่าในชัยชนะอยู่บนหลังม้า เป็นฉากชีวิตอันขมขื่นที่สุดในความทรงจำของชาวบาหลี แต่ใช่ว่าปืนไฟและอำนาจอธรรมจะสยบพวกเขาได้ราบคาบ หลังจากนั้น ยังมีกรณียอมตายเพื่อรักษาเกียรติยศตามมาอีกหลายเมือง โดยเฉพาะที่เมืองคลุงคลุง ล้มตายไปไม่น้อยกว่าที่เดนปาซาร์เลย

Puputan

Balinese history has been largely influenced by outsiders. One group of outsiders, who have a history of violence and destruction, wherever they went were the Europeans. One of the bloodiest events in Balinese history occurred in Denpasar on September 20th, 1906, when the raja of Badung (the southern regency in Bali), Gusti Gede Ngurah came to the conclusion, that his court could no longer suffer under Dutch rule and ordered a mass suicide, the ritual puputan.

ที่ดิฉันกับคุณหมอทิศานาถ จะไปดูเช้านี้ ค่ะ ดิฉันนุ่งผ้าซิ่นเชุดสีดำของ มืองของเชียงใหม่ค่ะ มีลายผ้าทออยู่ตรงหน้าอกสีแดงกับสีครีม อยู่ชายผ้าซิ่น ที่เป็นลายเดียวกัน ง่ายหน่อยเพราะมีเชือกรัดตรงเอว ซึ่งดิฉันมาทราบทีหลังว่าเป็นลักษณะผ้านุ่งของชวา 

และคนขับรถ ได้บอกดิฉันว่า มาดามเหมือนบาหลี 

ดิฉันนึกถึงคุณป้าที่สวยเฉียบ เหมือนลูกครึ่งอินโดนีเซีย กับฝรั่ง 

แต่ดิฉันนี่คงเป็นบาลีนิส พันธุ์แท้ เรียกดิฉันเป็น ภาษาฝรั่งเศส ทีเดียว

ในความเป็นอยู่ของชาวบาหลีไม่ต่างจากชนบทประเทศไทย มีวันตลาดนัด มีชนไก่ เป็นกีฬาประจำท้องถิ่น มีการไปวัดตามงานเทศกาล มีการเฉลิมฉลองงานของหมู่บ้าน การปักธง และใช้ทางมะพร้าง ปักเหมือนยกช่อฟ้า เพื่อเป็นสัญญลักษณ์ของงาน เช่นมีการแต่งงานของหมู่บ้าน หรือการเฉลิมฉลองเทศกาล การนำของไปถวายวัด ตกแต่งงดงาม

และวางเทินบนศีรษะ เหมือนในท้องถิ่นของอินเดียและเนปาล เสื้อไปวัดจะเป็นเสื้อลูกไม้สี ฉูดฉาด ผู้ชายมีผ้าคาดหัวแทนหมวก
