| | | | Seem is similar in meaning to 'appear'. It can be followed by an adjective (you seem tired) or by an infinitive. seem เป็น Intransitive Verb(อกรรมกิริยา) มีความหมายเหมือนกับ 'appear'. สามารถนำมาใช้ในรูปแบบต่างๆเช่น seem + adjective seem + that หรือใช้กับ infinitive ใน Present Tense และ Perfect Tense
seem + Adjective: You seem tired.
seem + that: It seems that she can't come.
The Present Infinitive: [to do] I seem to know more about him than anyone else. You seem to enjoy working hard. My computer doesn't seem to be working.
The Present Continuous: [to be doing] Paul seems to be enjoying the party. They seem to be taking a long time to decide.
The Perfect Infinitive: [to have done] I seem to have forgotten my phone. I seem to have lost my purse.
The Perfect Continuous: [to have been doing] Michales seems to have been taking a lot of sleeping pills recently.
การใช้ seem ในประโยคปฏิเสธ เราสามารถปฏิเสธที่ Seem โดยตรง หรือ ปฏิเสธกับ Infinitive negate seem. Paul doesn't seem to be enjoying the party.
negate the infinitive (ซึ่งเป็นทางการกว่า) Paul seems not to be enjoying the party.
สำหรับวันนี้ดูเหมือนว่าผมจะต้องขอตัวไปนอนและเพราะรู้สึกง่วงเหลือเกิน Today, I seem to go to bed soon because I seem sleepy.
