: : Meet Joe Black : :
Who could believe it is now so hard to find original CDs of International artists or Movie soundtrack on sale in Thailand, or to be specific, in Bangkok!!!...
All force me to look for the music I like in the internet, most of which allow us to enjoy the pleasure of listening either through on-line only when we turn on our computer (what a limitation, isn't it?) or simply embedding onto our blog at most, that forces you to develop your own blogs.
The soundtrack of "Meet Joe Black" film is one treasure I found in IMEEM site and I couldn't possibly ignore it. Therefore I embedded it on my blog with some brief writing about my impression on this romantic drama film.
Meet Joe Black film poster
This version of "Meet Joe Black" is a 1998 remake of the 1934 film, "Death Takes a Holiday". I just knew this from Wikipedia but I couldn't imagine who would represent the Death in a more attractive way. It is said that "Meet Joe Black", starring Brad Pitt, is one of the most viewed film of the century.
Another film poster, this supposes to be the end shot when Joe is about to take Bill away for good
When Joe started taking up his feeling for Susan It's hard to resist, though
This film could be regarded as a simple story of one man's thought on life and wishes for a living, including an unconditional and unselfish love. When Death just took over the body of a man with aims to learn what it's like to be a human, taking a persona of 'Joe Black', his involvement with Bill Parrish's family members, especially his beloved daughter Susan, gradually and surprisingly develops Death more human aspects of mortality.
Meet Joe Black is one of my favourite films. The music is also appealing that I feel overwhelmed every time I listen to the song "Someone Else" which connoting the true feeling of the couple when they realize that it's time to say good bye. Most importantly, it might be the last time they see each other. (I couldn't hold my tears at this scene)
Leading actors are Brad Pitt as 'Jo Black' or Death taking a holiday, Sir Anthony Hopkins as Bill Parrish, the reluctant Death's Tour Guide and apparently becoming the mentor for Death's encounter with the attractive Susan Parrish, Bill's youngest daughter, starred by lovely Claire Forlani.
Great performance of supporting actress like Marcia Gay Harden as Allison Parrish, Bill's oldest daughter could not be left out. This film will not be completed without her.
What a sad good bye kiss....
Meet Joe Black 1998 directed and produced by Martin Brest, written by Bo Goldman, music by Thomas Newman, production budget US$ 90 million, worldwide gross revenue US$ 142 million (its domestic revenue was quite disappointing while oversea's was much better), release date 13 November 1998, distributed by Universal Pictures, running time 178 minutes.
