SomTam Nong Rejoice Last time I wrote about having Yakiniku and Khun esprit_pawin posted me the link of his blog, invited me to taste SomTam there. I was drooling. So yesterday after work Dao and I went to our favorite SomTam Shop named, Nong Rejoice. This shop is opposite Major Ratchayothin, behind the nurse school. Sorry I don’t remember the name. But the shop is so easy to find ,it’s just across the street from Major. The owner named this shop after his daughter, Rejoice. My gang guesses that she must be born the same period that Rejoice shampoo has been launched in Thailand. This SomTam shop is not a restaurant; it’s not even a proper shop. The owner, whom we call Loong (Uncle) just found a wasted land some years ago. He told us that he tried to find the owner of that land so he can rent it, but he never found anyone. Even the bank at corner doesn’t know who the owner of that small area is. So Loong just set up the tent and started his business since then. I am not sure if he found someone he can pay for rent yet. Hmmm I’ll update the news next time I go there. Well, back to our menu of the day. We always order same dishes every time, never ever tired of them. When we arrived they will serve us the appetizer. Yep veggies and Jaw !!!!! Another thing we love of this shop is they serve ice cold big glass bottle of cola hmmmmm it’s the best! We are at SomTam Shop so we can’t miss this. My favorite; Tam Sua Pu Plara Mai Ped. Make sure that you order Mai Ped if you are not into extremely spicy dish. The taste is soooooooooooooooooooooo Lao. Lao mak mak. It’s not recommend to people who can’t stand Plara ka. It’s even better to eat with Kor Moo Yang (grilled pork neck) Yummy, it’s very tender and tasteful. For beef lover, I am proudly present Nua Yang (grilled beef) Their special recipe is they added chilly powder when they marinate the beef. So it’s a bit spicy and tasty. Another special dish I like is Pak Ped Tod (deep fried duck beak) I never knew that it’s eatable before, just tried it here and love it now. It’s good guys, high calcium na ja. Loong just had new menu, Grilled Fish so we tried it but I do sorry that I forgot to take the photo. มาสวัสดีตอนสายๆของวันเสาร์ครับผม อิๆ เรื่องเนื้อย่างอ่ะ ผมยังไงไม่เลิกกินหรอกครับคุณ Pebbles (เอ ... จะเรียกคุณ Pebbles ว่ายังดีครับ อยากเรียกชื่อเล่นอ่ะครับ เรียกล็อกอินแล้วดูห่างเหินไงไม่รู้ครับ) ก็ผมมัน Beef lover นี่ครับ ชอบประโยคนี้ครับ The taste is soooooooooooooooooooooo Lao. Lao mak mak. ฮ่าๆ แน่นอน กินส้มตำปลาร้าให้อร่อย ก็ต้องกินอย่างลาวๆนี่แหละครับ ผมเองที่เสียชาติเกิดเป็นลูกอีสาน เพราะไม่กินปลาร้าอ่ะครับ อ๊ะๆ ไม่ได้ดัดจริตนะครับ ไม่ได้เหมือนเน่าหรืออะไรนะครับ แต่ว่าผมไม่ค่อยชอบกินปลาอ่ะ มันคาวครับ ดังนั้นปลาร้า ... ผมก็เลยขอบายไว้ก่อน อิๆ ขอให้คุณ ...
