Stephanie Elise Blackburn of Austin, formerly of Killeen, and Carter Adams Johnson of Houston were united in marriage on Oct. 10, 2015, at Camp La Junta, overlooking the Guadalupe River in Hunt. The bride and groom were given in marriage by both sets of parents in a double-ring ceremony officiated by Dr. Raymond McHenry of Beaumont, uncle of the bride. A scripture reading was given by Meagan McHenry Lacey of North Richland Hills, cousin of the bride. Soloist and guitarist was Zach Harmon of Abilene, cousin of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of David and Anne Blackburn of Temple, formerly of Killeen. Her grandparents are Shirley and the late Donald Blackburn of Abilene and the Rev. Al and Martha McHenry of Lewisville. A Baylor University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, minors in World Affairs and Spanish, the bride has worked in alumni relations and external development in both the business and law school alumni offices at the University of Texas-Austin.

The groom is the son of David and Debbie Johnson of Houston. His grandparents are Raleigh and Marjorie Johnson of Houston and Fred and Jean Adams of Bellville. A Baylor University graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration and minor in Management Information Systems, the groom is a regional account executive for VMware in Richmond, Va.
The bride wore an Alvina Valenta ivory silk fluted duchess gown featuring an Alecon lace bodice, 53 looped silk buttons down the back that met at a center pleat, inverted when bustled, a full length veil and a custom-made Baylor garter, not revealed to the groom until the garter toss. Inside her shoe was an old 6-pence coin given by the Johnson grandparents. A blue locket worn on her great-great grandmothers wedding day was offered from her McHenry grandmother.
The maids of honor were Susie McNulty of Denver and Sarah Bliss Herrera of Austin.
The bridesmaids were Keri Blackburn Grady of Fort Worth, formerly of Killeen, sister of the bride; Sarah Blackburn Sgaglione of Wantagh, Long Island, N.Y, formerly of Killeen., sister of the bride; Kimberly Blackburn of Beijing, China, formerly of Killeen, sister of the bride; Pam Garcia of Harker Heights; Kali Soderwall Newcom of Waco; and Lacy Johnson Davis of McDonough, Ga., sister of the groom.
Members of the house party were Katie Anderson of Temple, Mary Ann Cangelosi of Austin and Caitlin Padilla of Houston.
The ring bearer was Conner Davis of McDonough, Ga., nephew of the groom.
The best men were Bin Johnson of Burbank, Calif., brother of the groom; and David George of Austin.
The groomsmen were David Johnson of Houston, father of the groom; Tim Smith of Fort Worth; Neat Clark of Houston; Zach Dutton of Austin; and Chris Davis of McDonough, Ga., brother-in-law of the groom.
The ushers were Kyle Landry of Austin, cousin of the groom; Andrew Gray of Houston; Peter McLean of Dallas; Jacob Grady of Fort Worth, brother-in-law of the bride; and James Sgaglione of Wantagh, Long Island, N.Y., brother-in-law of the bride.
A candlelight reception followed at Camp La Junta, where the groom worked as a wrangler as a teen, and located across the river from his grandparents property. Guests waved giant sparklers as the couple departed in a World War II family jeep.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the grooms parents outdoors beside the river at Charmarie the grooms extended family vacation home.
After a honeymoon trip to Great Exuma, Bahamas, the couple will reside in Richmond, Va.
