Hosted by Lees Garcia and Claire Parker, another group of delegates had the opportunity to talk about themselves, express their views and even ask questions to each other about what they expect from the Miss Grand title.

Miss Turkey talked about the charity work that Miss Grand Ukraine 2015 has been doing for her country, based on the “Stop the War” platform which she took home last year after the competition, joined by Miss Grand Iran 2015.  Miss Turkey then talked about the importance of the platform and spreading the message, something that not only changes the life of others but it changes themselves.

Lees Garcia (MGI 2014) and Claire Parker (MGI 2015) then proceeded to talk about the importance of being commited to the Miss Grand International crown.  Garcia emphasized on the importance of the job; that being Miss Grand International is not a mere beauty title, but a job.  That the winner needs to be prepared for long hours of travel and short hours of sleep; to be prepared to always bring a smile to those unfortunate living in war-ridden areas; to be always ready and beautiful for important event and charity galas; but above all, to be proud of the work that as titleholder needs to be done.

Parker then briefed the delegates about the right reasons for wanting to become Miss Grand International. “If you are doing it for the money, be prepared to earn it; if you are doing it just to add another beauty crown to your collection, you will be disappointed”.

Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil then also talked to the contestants and said that the quality he most appreciates in a winner is Honesty.  “Please be honest, always. Do not lie.  If you say that you will do the job and that you will have no problems doing it, then do it.  Please don’t say you will do it and then refuse to do your duties.  Please don’t say that you are prepared to sleep very little and then you are not able to wake up.  I need honesty.  I need all of you to be true about yourselves.  I need somebody passionate enough to do this job”.

Lees and Claire also talked about the bond they formed as winners of the Grand Slam pageant and how happy they are to be spokespersons for the Miss Grand International Brand.  Then Mr Nawat came with a surprise:  All previous winners of the competition are welcome to stay in Bangkok, in the new luxury residence at Up Ekamai Condominium where the 2016 titleholder will live during her reign in Thailand.

Nawat’s words took Lees and Claire by surprise who, along with the delegates, were visibly emotional and thankful for the experience.  As Global Beauties describes it, since the first year, all its winners have something in common: Their humbleness, disposition and elegance.  Miss Grand International is “A Lady with a Heart”.

In addition, congratulations are in order to MGI for reaching the 1,000,000 likes milestone on Facebook!  In only 4 years, MGI has proven to be great in quality, promotion, production and above all, respect for its titleholders.

The Preliminary interviews will take place on Wednesday October 19th.
