A Webmaster*s Dream Come True - *Secret Money Generator*
A Webmaster*s Dream Come True - *Secret Money Generator*
You look at your beautiful website, getting a steady flow of visitors, and wonder how you can squeeze more money out of it. Maybe you*re even getting a few sales, but you want an easy way to generate even more. You want a *secret money generator* if you will.
I was in the same predicament 3 years ago. I had my site at Chitterlings.com which was (and still is) selling a cookbook that I wrote. I had days when I was getting tens of thousands of visitors... mostly looking for seasonal recipes. My challenge was to find something to offer my visitors who didn*t purchase my cookbook. My challenge was to find something else to offer my visitors who DID purchase my cookbook :-)
Somehow I came across a magazine jobber. He offered to allow me to sell magazines to my site visitors. This sounded perfect. There were literally hundreds of different titles that I could offer, and the profit margin was VERY high.
So I downloaded hundreds of images from a resource site, and set about building webpages describing all of these magazine. I logged into my affiliate program, and set up hundreds of order links. It took me almost 2 weeks, but I though that the webpages I created were true works of art.
I linked to those pages, and notified members of my recipe exchange list of this new site feature. I also posted teaser copy strategically throughout my website. Then the orders started coming in.
Then the headaches began! Two to three times a week I received an email from the jobber telling me that prices, or magazine availability, had changed. So I had to go change ALL of the affected pages. When I received an order, I had to manually forward the order to the jobber in a very specific format. He forwarded the orders to the publishers, and 4-8 weeks later, my customers* subscriptions started. In the interim, I*d get dozens of emails asking for an update on their subscriptions. It just wasn*t worth it... so I stopped selling magazines :-)
Fast-forward 3 years, and it took me less than 30 minutes to set up another magazine shop on my website. It now takes me about 5 minutes to update the ENTIRE site which features over 1200 titles.
Why am I telling you this and why do you care? Well, YOU can now quickly and easily add a *store* to any of your websites... plugging in literally millions of affiliate products. Most major affiliate program managers offering more than a handful of products now offer webmasters data feeds. These are generally provided as Comma Separate Values (CSV) files... spreadsheet
files. The webmasters uses various tools to extract this data and display it on their webpages.
Countless brick and mortar companies now have affiliate program. Everyone from Office Depot, to furniture stores, to clothing manufacturers, will now allow you to sign up for their affiliate program and offer their product to your website visitors. No matter what the topic of your website, there are affiliate products that are ideal for your visitors, and there*s a good chance that there are also data feeds available for these affiliate programs.
The tool that I use to get data feeds onto my website is actually called *Secret Money Generator.* Secret Money Generator is a program you install on your website. You design a few basic templates using either the built in capabilities of the software, or use your favorite html editor.
Next, with the click of a button... the software: 1) Uploads your templates to your server. 2) Uploads your entire database to your server. 3) Builds static html pages featuring the individual products.
The static html webpages are actually built right on the server by the software. You can see one of hundreds of such sites I own and profit handsomely from at: //Chitterlings.com/mags/
After I designed the templates, which took me about 20 minutes to get them looking the way that I wanted them to, I uploaded them to my server. Then with the click of a button, the software built 1843 pages on my site in 14 seconds.
Site maintenance merely involves getting updates from the respective affiliate program manager, and then uploading the updated csv file at whatever frequency you desire. Then with the click of a button all 1843 pages are automatically updated...it takes about 10 seconds.
To update the look of your entire site, you just make changes to your templates, upload these, and... again, with the click of a button update thousands of pages in mere seconds!
You can plug *a store* like this into any of your sites, or dozens of your sites, in very little time. I spend a few hours on many of my sites getting them just the way that I want them. Once things are set up it*s largely on autopilot. Since I now use affiliate programs I don*t have the tracking or order fulfillment headaches I had years ago with that first magazine site. The magazine affiliate program that I showed you is even 2-tier, so I*m earning lifetime commissions on both my customers and those of other webmasters I set up with a magazine site... or any of a dozen other 2-tier programs I promote.
You don*t have to market inexpensive products from your sites though. There are affiliate programs offering products selling for thousands of dollars EACH, and they provide data feeds too. When you get Secret Money Generator, you also get a list of lots of places that offer you huge data feeds. There are data feeds that feature over 1 million products :-)
Take a look at *Secret Money Generator* now at: //www.profitautomation.com/app/adtrack.asp?AdID=121605
It comes with a step-by-step video tutorial. The tutorials are very nicely done in Camtasia. The software developers also periodically conducts hands-on training workshops. I attended one in Orlando, Florida, January 28th - 30th,2005. There are others planned in Orlando and Las Vegas. The workshops aren*t required, but they are an excellent way to see how other Secret Money Generator users are creating some awesome sites. It*s a great way to get to know this powerful software inside-out.
Whether your site is on... training your gold fish, carpet cleaning, or raising perfect children, you can plug in a Secret Money Generator* profit stream very easily.
After you get your secret money generators up and running you only need to point your website visitors to them. You can also plug in lots of powerful site content and this will send you droves of organic search engine traffic. For example, the site I showed you above now gets as many as 27,000 unique visitors on a good day... all from free search engine listings. It literally is a veritable money machine.
I*ve just shown you *a webmaster*s dream come true.* Now you have absolutely no excuse not to turn your website into *a secret money generator.*

Achieve a better website by avoiding these 10 basic mistakes
Achieve a better website by avoiding these 10 basic mistakes
Ever since I started doing free website reviews, there have been some common elements where many of the websites miss the mark.
Usually this is because webmasters forget to recognise that websites are a multi-faceted thing - a bit like an onion – with layer on layer of interdependent elements. If you miss an element, then the integrity of the site is put at risk.
The outcome of this can mean: Not being found by search engines Pages not being indexed because no other page links to them Not ranking as highly as you should, Confused site visitors who leave, The site is just’Too hard’ Potential customers do not develop trust with your site; so will not buy from you Complete site rework required as a result of poor planning
Here are a couple of errors and suggested methods for improving them:
1. Not having a business model or plan in place. Many sites develop out of an idea; most have no business model in place. Often website owners are just letting their websites grow without thought as to how or even if there should be a way to generate income, and if income is to be generated how this can best be achieved. But the business model need not be an income-generating model. You can also think of it as a ‘purpose and outcome’. If you are developing a site as a hobby, it still requires preplanning and thought.
2. Working within the limitations of what your host provides Sometimes, especially when it is your first site, you may look at what your web host provides and build your site around the services provided by your web host. If the services on offer are limited, this may limit the scope of what you are trying to achieve. Better to plan your website and gather the online tools to let you achieve what you want to do to build a site that meets you goals.
3. Not being clear on page on what the site is about All too often pages are very ambiguous about what the page is actually about. The worst situation is when the home page does not provide a clear statement of purpose. I do not mean a Mission Statement, or other formal statement, but at least a paragraph that clearly explains the reason or content of the page. This does not need to be several paragraphs, one paragraph or even a long sentence. It can just be a solid tagline. It can take some skill and time to do this properly, but the results are worth it as your visitors will be quickly reassured that they are in the right place and will be prepared to spend time delving deeper. An additional benefit is written with a good keyword density, this text provides an excellent chunk of data for search engines.
4. Poorly written pages Not only does the visual aspect of your website influence how people perceive your business, so does the text. Poorly written sentences, spelling mistakes or typos all contrive to say, “The business behind this site has not been careful with this, it won’t be careful with your business either”. Impressions are important and this extends right down to every single word on every page. Spend time on writing and rewriting text. If you feel you cannot get it right, get help.
5. Not using formatting to make pages easier to read An important aspect of the web that many people do not realise is the we read computer screens differently than we read text on paper. On screen people scan more than read. This means that your text needs to be formatted in such a way that a visitor can scan your page and gain a reasonably clear understanding of what you want to say. It allows people to move quickly to the section of text that has the information they want to read every word of. So be sure to use headings, sub-headings, bold and italic text and bullet points. As a rule of thumb, make the text on a web page 40% shorter than paper-based equivalents.
6. Talking to the masses, not the individual While your website may be seen by hundreds or thousands of people every day, an important, yet commonly overlooked factor, is that your website is seen by that many individuals. They are not there as a mass, but are singular entities (even if simultaneously) who need to be regarded as an individual.
7. Being self centred Website visitors are interested in what is in it for them, not what you can do. Saying “We have the largest team of technicians in the city” does no-one any favours. But saying “You will receive fast, professional service from our team of qualified technicians” is better. As a consumer I don’t care how big your team is, I just want my equipment fixed quickly by someone who knows what they’re doing.
8. Inconsistencies I shudder when visiting a site and when I go to the second page of the site everything about the page is different – colour, text style. It’s even worse when I get to a third page and it is different again… It makes the task of building a website much easier if you settle on a template and add content to the template. This shows a higher degree of professionalism (or less amateurishness). Also on any page, use no more than 2 font styles.
9. Tenses ”We believe that we can best meet your needs”…..”I have three years experience” The switch from I to we is very common. Also beware of could, can, should.
10. Pages too wide for the screen Test it – 30% of people still use 800x600 screen resolutions. Use design tricks to enable pages to adjust to variable screen widths. Even worse is when pages don’t fit any resolution properly, and require just a small sideways scroll, but often enough to be required to read the text of the page.
These are all common mistakes that are easily fixed and ones that will help in building credibility and greater visitor satisfaction.

Adding Music to your Web Site - the good, the bad and the ugly
Adding Music to your Web Site - the good, the bad and the ugly
Many webmasters like the idea of adding background music to their web sites but most shy away from doing it worrying about slow loading pages and large file sizes. There are many different ways to add background music to your site and some of them don't require large files to achieve professional results. Let's examine all the different ways to add background music to your site and rate them to find the best solution for you.
1) MIDI Files MIDI files are very small because they actually use your sound card's built-in instruments to create the sounds. The problem is that most sound cards don't have any decent sounds to start with, plus no two sound cards sound alike and therefore the results are very unpredictable. MIDI files usually sound like they're coming from one of those cheap Casio keyboards. Using MIDI for background music is very likely to make your site seem amateurish. Advanced web design principles
Advanced web design principles
Home Page
Regardless of our connection speed, Internet users expect information to be readily obtainable, pages to download quickly and solutions at the click of the mouse. As such, you should look at your home page as your Sale point. Have you explained succinctly what you are selling and included links to more detailed information? Note that on the first page, you should try to pre-sell your potential customers on the benefits of your product or service.
If you are offering many products or services, place only the most attractive on the first page. Do not overload your first page. People might get confused if you provide too much information on one page. That is one of the reasons why I always advise my customers not to use flash intros on their first page or at the very lease, allow them to skip through it. Today, internet users have less patience to wait and will move on quickly if pages take too long too load or if they have to “wait through” fancy openers that are all flash and no substance.
Site structure
Structure of your site should be dedicated to one goal only. Leading the visitor from your home page (pre-sale point) to different pages (sale points) on your site.
Structure of your site should be as simple as 1 – 2 – 3.
The 1 should be your home page, where you provide the basic information (read benefits) about your product or service.
The 2 should be a “more details” page where you will list and elaborate on benefits and prices of your product
And 3 should be your “add to cart” or “contact us” page.
Navigation structure
If you are serious about having your business on the Internet, do not experiment with the navigation of the site. Keep it simple and easy to use. If your pages are long, place a menu on the bottom of the page to save your users from scrolling to the top of the page to reach the menu.
Text
Do you believe that people read everything written on your page? They don’t. What they do is SCAN. They are scanning your page, looking for specific information regarding your company, what you have to offer, pricing and how to contact you. What you say and how you say it can mean the difference between a visitor and a sale.
For first timers, the look and content of our pages may evolve based on customer needs and comments. So… always, be sure to include search options in case visitors don’t find what they are looking for as well as readily obtainable contact information. Most importantly, make sure someone is available to answer questions. Never keep a potential first-time customer waiting for information.
In many cases, search option will keep the visitor on your site, giving you one more chance to convert the visitor into a customer.
Creating emphasis
Having in mind that users scan the pages, determining what to emphasize and creating emphasis on your pages is very important. Eye catching details will help you to lead the visitor to the pages on your site that you want to be exposed, and it will increase your chances to convert the visitor into a customer.
Graphics
Graphics should emphasize the benefits of your products or service. Don’t use graphics unrelated to your product or service. Placing the graphic on the site just because you like the graphic, and you think that your site looks better with it is simply wrong. Use that space to explain to your visitors why they should buy from you and not from someone else.
Graphics should emphasize quality of your product or service. If you can’t find or create such a graphic, use text. It’s that simple.
Speed
Faster is better. There are still millions of people still using dial up for their connection. So try to make the download time for your site as short as possible. Remember, time is money and the longer it takes to download your website, the faster potential customers will go elsewhere for their business.

And the Broadband Played on, and on...
And the Broadband Played on, and on...
And the Broadband Played on, and on... By Jim Daniels Confession: I'm still using slow internet access. That's right, a guy who spends 6-8 hours online every day is still in the slow lane, on a 56k modem.
Why? Because broadband is "still coming"...
In this article you'll learn why broadband high-speed internet access is so slow getting here. You'll also find out if YOU can get it, and how this technology will (eventually) come into play at your website.
Currently, internet users looking to speed up their internet connections have three primary choices.
- ADSL (over existing phone lines) - Cable Modem (via the cable TV infrastructure) - Satellite (through a satellite dish)
... that is, depending on where you live.
If you're like me and you live in the country, you may be lucky enough to have even one choice. For me that choice is satellite. And believe me, I tried. And tried. Yet I'm still on a regular ISP.
My own experience is not unlike that of many others in search of high speed internet access. You see, all three choices mentioned above come with this side note:
Even if it's available in your area and you can get it installed properly, it may not turn out to be all it's cracked up to be. I learned that first-hand.
It's no wonder web message boards are littered with still- slow web surfers singing the broadband blues. It seems that as broadband technology makes its way to the forefront it is encountering its share of problems. Among them are high costs, unreliable connections and technicians who are, shall we say, less than fully trained on the technology.
Rather than bore you with the details of my own trials and tribulations, I'll point you to a few stories about each of these broadband access services...
DSL: Darn Stupid Line //www.wired.com/news/business/0,1367,33653,00.html
Cable Net Access Rides Slow Boat //www.zdnet.com/anchordesk/story/story_4338.html
Making Sense of Satellite Services //www.zdnet.com/anchordesk/story/story_3160.html
That's not to say YOU shouldn't give current high-speed technology a try. If you want to give it a go, you can save some time and effort by visiting //www.getspeed.com to find out exactly which services are available in your area.
OK, now that you know why broadband is in the "still coming" stages, lets look forward a bit. After all, advances in technology take time to become mainstream. And broadband access will become mainstream eventually. It may be another 4 or 5 years before it qualifies as such, but it will be here. While it is on the way, you as a web marketer must slowly prepare for the changes.
Don't worry, I'm not going to suggest you try to compete with AOL and Time Warner. Offering rich broadband streaming media is simply not going to be feasible for most small web marketers. And you probably don't have broadband updates worked into your budget. I know I don't! And that's just fine for quite a while to come.
You see, until broadband is actually mainstream, filling your website with rich content can actually be detrimental. It will hurt your "slow lane" web surfers by bogging down their experience. Unless you can offer an experience for BOTH fast and slow users you may be better off taking a minimal position.
But it is a good idea to at least "consider" your strategies and how the eventual emergence of high-speed access may help your web presence.
You may even want to consider "easing" some broadband friendly content into your site. There are lots of ways to do this. Here are just two examples that should help you get your own ideas flowing...
1. Add a little "Flash".
Flash 4 is a program from MacroMedia which is a great solution for producing and delivering high-impact Web sites. Developers can create an array of dazzling effects including sound effects, animations, and innovative interfaces.
Simply put, if you want to create an impression and an unforgettable experience at your website, Flash is the tool to use. And if you're up for developing your own Flash presentations, you can hire out the work. More and more web designers are offering flash programming to their services lately.
If you do decide to add Flash to your website though, don't force it on your visitors. While Flash works fine on slower connections, it's stronger on high-speed access, so make your Flash presentations an option your visitors can choose to view.
More information on Flash can be found at: //www.macromedia.com/software/flash/
2. Add Professional Audio.
There are lots of ways to add audio to your site. A new and simplified method is available from Website Audio Productions, a company specializing in streaming audio for Internet communication.
Rather than describe how their technology works, I'll let you hear it in action. I placed a sample of it at //www.bizweb2000.com/articles.htm which it took me all of five minutes to implement. (You probably already heard it.)
Their combination of professional script-writing, expert studio production, and no plug-in technology makes it easy to actually speak to your website visitors. A professional voice greeting is a great way to audio-enable...
- Company Introductions - Promotion of Products and Services - Content Summaries - Customer Service Information - Virtual Tours - E-Commerce
They offer free greetings to try on your website, and personalized versions are quite inexpensive. No special server software is required and the greeting are a breeze to implement.
