Michael Ruffนั้นเป็นนักร้อง นักเล่นเปียโนและนักแต่งเพลง ผมรู้จักเขาตอนที่เริ่มหัดฟังเพลงจากเครื่องเสียงแบบแยกชิ้น ผมเห็นในร้านขายเครื่องเสียงมีแผ่นซีดีชุดนี้ไว้ให้ทดสอบ....ชุดSpeaking in The Melodyออกในปี 1993 ผมฟังอยู่หลายรอบจนตัดสินใจที่ซื้อแผ่นซีดีไว้ฟังเอง....จำได้ว่าซื้อจากร้านValentineที่MBK...ตอนนั้นกัดฟันซื้อเลย แผ่นละเจ็ดร้อย แผ่นอิมพอร์ต...ย้อนไปเมื่อ5-6ปีก่อน...ที่แพงเพราะเขาว่าเป็นแผ่นAudiophileใช้ทดสอบเครื่องเสียง.ผมชอบทั้งทำนองและเสียงของMichael Ruff แถมเนื้อเพลงความหมายก็ดีด้วย

...แทบไม่น่าเชื่อว่าเวลาผ่านมาได้เกือบเดือน หลังเหตุการณ์ได้เกิดขึ้นและผ่านไป ผมก็ยังประคองเอาตัวรอดกับเหตุการณ์ที่ผมคิดว่าไม่น่าจะทนได้ ผมได้ทำอะไรหลายอย่างในแต่ละวันเพื่อให้ลืมสิ่งที่เจ็บปวด การโพสเพลงในบล็อกนี้ก็เป็นสิ่งหนึ่งที่ช่วยผมได้....ผมต้องคอยค้นเพลงที่ผมเคยฟัง หลายเพลงไม่ได้ฟังเป็นเวลาหลายปี ก็ได้มีเวลาค้นหามาฟัง...แรกๆก็ไม่ได้คิดอะไรนั่งไปโพสไป พยายามโพสทุกวัน วันไหนที่เหนื่อยจากงานประจำ เหนื่อยจนแทบสลบก็ไม่ได้โพส แต่ก็พยายามจะนั่งโพสทุกวัน หลังๆกลายเป็นว่าผมกลับติดการโพสบล็อกซะแล้ว เป็นโลกส่วนตัวอีกใบหนึ่งที่ผมสามารถอิสระจะโพสอะไรหลายๆอย่างที่ในชีวิตจริง ผมคิดว่าแทบไม่มีโอกาสเลย...และบางครั้งก็ไม่น่าเชื่อที่ผมนั่งฟังบางครั้งหลายรอบวนไปวนมา เพราะเนื้อเพลงทำให้ผมรู้สึกเหมือนทุกอย่างที่ในเพลงบอกไว้...ทุกวันนี้ผมก็ยังพบเจอกับเธอคนนั้น ยังส่งสายตารอยยิ้มให้ทุกครั้งที่ต้องเจอกันแบบหลบไม่ทัน ผมก็ยังห้ามใจไม่ได้ยังส่งSMSไปให้ในบางครั้งที่คิดถึงจริงๆ...ผมไม่กล้าคุยกันจริงๆ...แม้ว่าเธอจะไม่เคยจะตอบอะไรกลับมาเลย ผมก็รู้ตัวดีว่า ทุกอย่างใกล้จะปิดฉากแบบสนิท(สำหรับเธอ...เพราะอีกเดือนหนึ่งเธอก็ต้องไปทำงานอีกจังหวัดหนึ่ง)...แต่ในใจผมก็ยังมีความรู้สึกดีๆความปรารถนาดีๆ อยากเห็นเธอเดินไปสู่สิ่งที่ดีอย่างที่เธอหวัง....ผมเหลือแค่ความรู้สึกอย่างนั้นจริงๆ....คงจะตลกดีพิลึกที่ยังเหลือคนโบราณที่คิดได้แค่นี้อยู่บนโลกที่หมุนไปด้วยความเร็วที่ทุกอย่างเปลี่ยนแปลงไปได้ทุกวินาที... ....เพลงนี้เป็นเพลงของคุณป้าPatti Austinในอัลบั้มเดียวกันกับIn My Life...เนื้อเพลงไม่ได้เป็นเรื่องของการผิดหวังเรื่องของความรักเลย แต่เป็นมุมดีๆของความรัก... ..ไม่ว่าเราจะเลือกทางเดินไปอย่างไร เราก็ไม่มีทางจะล้มเหลวพ่ายแพ้ ตราบใดที่เรายังมีกันและกัน เราจะพ้นผ่านการทดสอบจากกาลเวลาด้วยความรักของเราทั้งสอง.... แม้ว่าตอนที่ผมกำลังโพสเพลงนี้..ฝนกำลังตกอยู่ แต่ผมกลับอยากมองดวงจันทร์ที่เต็มดวงที่ส่องแสงเหลืองนวล THROUGH THE TEST OF TIME For the first time in my life Boy, I'm not afraid of saying How I really feel inside We don't have to go on waiting Just think about it Together you and I I could never try to write a better story For the pages of my life you must have written for me 'Cause every line found a way into my heart

ผมไม่แน่ใจว่า...Patti Austin นักร้องรุ่นใหญ่คนนี้ จะมีใครรู้จักกันไหม เป็นนักร้องในยุค80-90 ผมรู้จักกับPatti Austinจากเพลงที่Sadao Watanabeเชิญไปร้องในอัลบั้ม FrontSeatในปี 1989 โดยอัลบั้มนี้มีเพลงร้อง 2 เพลงคือ"Only on my mind"กับ"Any other fool"ซึ่งเป็นธรรมเนียมของนักดนตรีแจ๊สที่เวลาออกอัลบั้มเพลงต้องออกเพลงที่มีเสียงร้องเพลงสองเพลงโดยเลือกนักร้องที่คุณภาพจริงๆและจะเรียกว่านักร้องคู่บุญกับนักดนตรีก็ได้.....เพลง In my lifeเป็นเพลงในอัลบั้ม Love Is Gonna Getcha ออกในปี 1990....สมัยนั้นพอเห็นเทปของPatti Austinแล้วผมซื้อทันทีแบบไม่ต้องลองเพราะรู้ดีอยู่แล้วว่าคุณภาพของเสียงอยู่ในขั้นไหน และเมื่อออกกับค่ายGRPซึ่งเป็นค่ายที่ดังเรื่องเพลงแจ๊สอยู่แล้ว..... ....เนื้อเพลงฟังแล้ว สำหรับผมแล้ว ผมว่าหวานและโรแมนติก...ลองคิดดูซิครับว่า หญิงสาวมาบอกคุณว่า ในชีวิตของเธอไม่เคยมีทำนองเพลงที่ไพเราะ ที่ทำให้เธอได้ร้องเพลง มีเพียงเพลงที่ขาดอะไรบางอย่าง คุณคือคนที่เธอรอเพื่อมาเติมทำนองให้ไพเราะ มาเติมเนื้อเพลงให้สมบูรณ์......โอ้โห หวานหยาดหยดแบบนี้ ที่จริงผมก็หวังลึกๆในซอกในมุมหนึ่งของหัวใจว่า...อยากเป็นส่วนที่เติมให้ชีวิตใครสักคนได้พบเพลงที่ไพเราะและสมบูรณ์...ด้วยใจจริง
