It was a good match for me, said Wawrinka. I think one of the best of the tournament. It was not easy to play him because he can play really aggressive. But I was moving very well and I'm very happy with my game.
Sometimes after a big win, you might put pressure on yourself, said Wawrinka. But I was aware of that and I tried not to do that.

Nadal Completes Double Duty To Book SF Spot; Faces Murray Next
ATP World Tour Champion Rafael Nadal blasted his way into the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters semi-finals on Friday, with an outstanding 6-3, 6-3 win over the experienced Croatian Ivan Ljubicic, a wild card entry and local resident, in just 74 minutes. Earlier in the day, World No. 1 Nadal also beat Ecuadorian qualifier Nicolas Lapentti 6-3, 6-0 in a rain-affected third-round clash. He is attempting to become the first No. 1 to lift the Monte-Carlo trophy since Ivan Lendl in 1988 (d. Jaite).
With each match on the terre battue at the Monte-Carlo Country Club, Nadal is growing in stature. Against Juan Ignacio Chela, Lapentti and Ljubicic he survived slow starts, but once the Mallorcan has gotten a feel for the pace of the court and the conditions he is dominant. Unbeaten in 25 matches at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tennis tournament, his only loss came in the 2003 third round (l. to Coria).
"The first match [of the day] I started badly, but I finished the match better than I start," said Nadal. "The second match, maybe even had a lot of mistakes. But the feeling was better. [The] important thing [is that] I finished the day better than I started [it]."
Nadal will next look to improve his impressive 136-4 five-year clay-court record against World No. 4 Andy Murray of Scotland, who beat the first Top 10 opponent of his career on clay courts in a late finish to day six at the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters.
"[I] have to play a little bit more inside [the baseline], make less mistakes [and] serve a little bit better," said Nadal of his current form on clay. "I think all aspects of the game I have to improve. But I hope tomorrow [will] be better."
Nadal is looking to clinch a record fifth consecutive Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters title on Sunday, leaving him one trophy shy of equalling Englands Reggie Doherty the winner of six pieces of silverware (1897-99, 1902-04) at the dawn of the now 103-year-old championship.
The 22-year-old Spaniard has amassed a 27-3 record on the 2009 ATP World Tour season, which includes a sixth Grand Slam championship crown at the Australian Open in January (d. Federer) and a 13th ATP World Tour Masters 1000 trophy at Indian Wells (d. Murray).
World No. 66 Ivan Ljubicic, who also reached the Monte-Carlo quarter-finals three years ago (l. to Gonzalez), dropped to 10-9 on the 2009 ATP World Tour season. He is 2-4 against Top 10 opponents and has never reached the final of an ATP World Tour clay-court tournament, despite being 8-12 lifetime in title-matches.
Last month the 30-year-old Monte-Carlo resident reached the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Indian Wells quarter-finals (l. to Murray).
Murray recorded his 29th win of the 2009 ATP World Tour season over eighth-seeded Russian Nikolay Davydenko 7-6(1), 6-4 in a quarter-final match that finished under the floodlights, on Court Central, at 8:53 p.m. local time after two hours and 10 minutes of play. The day began at 10:30 a.m. with the conclusion of rain-affected third round ties.
The 21-year-old Murray squandered two set points at 6-5 and 15-40 on the Davydenko serve before the opening set was decided on a tie-break. Davydenko, who is playing only his third ATP World Tour tournament of the year after he suffered a left heel injury at Chennai in January, hit six consecutive unforced errors in the tie-break to gift Murray the opening set after one hour and 18 minutes.
While Davydenko regained his composure and took a 2-0 and 4-1 lead in the second set, Murray fought back as he did from 0-5 in the previous round against Fabio Fognini to level the score line at 4-4. He clinched a 5-4 on his third break point, when Davydenko hit a backhand approach into the net.
Minutes later Murray booked his place in the semi-finals. He now has an ATP World Tour-best 8-1 record in 2009 against Top 10 opponents.
MONACO (AP)Top-ranked Rafael Nadal moved one step closer to his fifth straight final at the Monte Carlo Masters, defeating Ivan Ljubicic 6-3, 6-3 Friday in his second match of the day.
Nadal also improved his winning streak in Monaco to 25 matches.
After beating Nicolas Lapentti 6-3, 6-0 in a rain-delayed third-round match, Nadal showed few signs of fatigue against Ljubicic in winning his 19th straight match on clay to reach the semifinals.
I dont remember ever winning two singles matches in one day, only doubles, Nadal said. I didnt have a very long match (in the morning), so I was totally 100 percent to play the second. Thats important.
Nadal next faces fourth-seeded Andy Murray, who reached his first career semifinal on clay after beating Nikolay Davydenko 7-6 (1), 6-4.
Third-seeded Novak Djokovic also reached the semifinals, defeating No. 7 Fernando Verdasco 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. Djokovic will meet No. 13 Stanislas Wawrinka, who upset No. 2 Roger Federer on Thursday. Wawrinka defeated German qualifier Andreas Beck 6-2, 6-4 on Friday.
Although Nadal has not dropped a set in Monte Carlo since beating Roger Federer in the 2006 final, he said hes still adopting to his favorite surface.
Have to play a little bit more inside, less mistakes, serve a little bit better, Nadal said. All aspects of the game, I have to improve.
The Spaniard has won the last four Monte Carlo titles and gone on to capture the French Open each time. His last defeat on clay was in the second round of the Rome Masters in May.
Murray finished his rain-suspended third-round match by defeating Fabio Fognini 7-6 (11), 6-4 before facing Davydenko.
Davydenko led 4-1 in the second set before Murray won the next five games. He converted his third match point when Davydenko hit a forehand long.
Every time I play against Nikolay he makes me run a lot, so I was prepared for that going into the match, Murray said. I was down 4-1 and managed to fight back. Im quite looking forward to getting into my bed now.
Djokovic broke Verdasco in the sixth game of the deciding set and closed out the match on serve.
I could have finished the job in two sets, but then he came back, said Djokovic, adding that heavy rain from Thursday made for tricky conditions on the clay. The courts were really wet. The balls were getting bald and really fast. It was tough to control.
Wawrinka has lost five of his seven previous meetings with Djokovic, including the last four. He lost to Djokovic in the Rome Masters final last year on clay, and recently on hard courts at Indian Wells, Calif.
Im very pleased to play against him again, this time on clay, Wawrinka said. I think its going to be a very physical match. I know he likes to be very aggressive.
Nadals match had been suspended Thursday because of heavy rain, with Lapentti up 1-0 in the first set. Ljubicic started his day by beating Simone Bolelli 7-5, 7-6 (2).
Davydenko beat No. 12 David Nalbandian 6-4, 5-7, 6-3.
In recent months rumors have connected with several Luciana tennis stars (Nicolas Massu, Fernando Gonzalez, Rafael Nadal, Juan Martin del Potro and Fernando Verdasco), but everyone ignored in Miami.
After being linked with Spanish tennis player David Ferrer, Luciana Salazar did not lose his nickname of raquetera. To achieve this he traveled to United States and attended all the matches of the championship Sony Ericsson Open .
According Weekly magazine, the blonde not only failed to groom tennis, but he earned the hatred of all.
In addition to showing as much as could all dates, Luli had perfect attendance at the bowling alley that iban tennis.
However, all they cut off his face. Juan Martin del Potro the elusive every night, Rafael Nadal or registered despite the insistence of Salazar and Fernando González were fed while denying it to the floor.
