Keanu with a translator Natsuko Toda from the book....by Kea_Kei
I borrowed an essay book about hollywoodstars written by a movie subtitle translator, Natsuko Toda from the civic library yesterday. You often see her with Keanu in Japan promo videos. I immediately scanned all Keanu related pages when I got my home. lol
She writes: Her first impression about Keanu while PB Japan promo was just a spoiled youngest boy in a promotion party including producers, the director and an experienced actor Patrick Swayze. But at Speed promo, he was changed and was more polite than before. But he was still shy even his age 30 at that time. In the interview, he was asked about a difference between the play and the movie shooting. He said there were many differences but rush is the same. Then he happened to notice the word "rush" was drug related word. He was embarrassed and asked her not translated to an interviewer.
During the Matrix Japan promo in 1999, Keanu came to Japan with his mom and often said to her "Are you alright, mother?". She was impressed keanu called his mom "mother". She said to his mom "You must be proud of your son." And she replied "Yes. And he always takes good care of me."
At the press conference, he was asked how you think about the violence representation in the hollywood movies. Keanu gave a curt reply, "I don't know." He was under criticism at that time. (I knew the press blamed his amswer at that time.) But she know he so regretted why he had replied like those and was very despondent just after the conference. She thinks Keanu is honest but sometimes he's not good at making his way in life.
I'm happy to see him in the sky. He is a brilliant star for me.
