My Arrival at Kent & Canterbury, UK.
Today (June 16, 2007), I have arrived at Heathrow airport at 0555 hrs in the morning after taking UA 958 from Ohare's airport, Chicago, on June 15, 2007 around 1644 hrs. This trip is fairly exciting for me and something happened beyond my expectationssssss!!!!!!.
I went to Chicago airport at noon and checked in with one carry-on and one big suitcase. Due to my underprivileged, I got the seat number 40J, which is located in very end of the airplane and very close to lavatory. It, indeed, was very bad. However, one guy asked to me to take his seat, 18B, which was located in economy plus class.
It meant that I got a larger seat and more space. I instantly conceded what he offered. You know I accepted it not because of such mentioned reasons but thanks to his own necessity to sit very close to his (girl)friend they met each other at the airport. Hahaha, it was my bad excuse, right? Finally, we agreed to make a pack, which was beyond my expectation, indeed.
After sitting at the new seat, I found that mine was very closed to First class, which I have never thought about reserving this privileged one. The United Airline separates the prohibited seat from economy by the partition. It meant that anyone who did not belong to Business and First Class cannot walk and go into this special partition, I guess.
The airline also provided several and special attendants, which includes the special cloth for them, to take care those privilege persons. The food and other services are also totally different from what I got during on plane until disembarking.
You know, my headset did not work perfectly and I asked them to help me. They just said "We are sorry. Because of the technical problem, we cannot do anything for you." Good for me!
I arrived at Heathrow located in London. It was completely different from those in the United States. Heathrow is comparatively smaller than most airports in the U.S. The roof is very low and no special decoration in this place.
The UK immigration law required me to declare myself why I came here, which is very easy to fill out, around 3 or 4 items needed to be done. No longer did I arrived at this place than my former colleagues, Pol.Maj. Chaovanut, who has been studying in Ph.D. program at Kent University, and his wife as well as his daughter, came to pick me up.
They provided me with the good accommodation and first meal at his home. It, of course, is much better the fucking food provided to me while seating in economy class in UA, hahaha. Kent County is located in the East Southern of U.K. It is very good place to stay and study but the weather is not so good in my view.
Only a half of the day I arrived, the weather changed unexpectedly as well. I was rainy, shiny and rainy again. It was beyond my expectation again. You may feel my perception if you touch four seasons in one day!
Well, regarding to the service at UA Business class, I have not been envious of them but I sometimes think when I can use this class and If I am rich enough, will I use it? Will you?
