โมโมทาโร่ บทที่14
ももたろうと いぬ、さる、 きじは、やがて おにがしまの みえる うみべに
やってきました。
Momotaro, the dog, the monkey and the pheasant finally arrived by the sea from where the island of Onigashima could be seen.
［りょうしさん、おにがしままで ふねを かして ください。 わるいおにを
たいじしに いくんです］
Mr. Fisherman! Please lend us a boat so we can get to Onigashima. Were off to destroy the evil demons! Pleaded Momotaro.
りょうしは よろこんで ふねを かして くれました。
The fisherman happily agreed to lend them his boat.

ももたろうと いぬと さるが あるいていくと、こんどは きじが とんで きました。
Momotaro, the dog and the monkey had gone some way further, when this time a pheasant jumped out before them.
［ももたろうさん、ももたろうさん、おこしに つけた きびだんご、ひとつ
わたしに くださいな］
The pheasant said, Momotaro, Momotaro! Please give me just one of those dumplings attached around your waist!
ももたろうが きびだんごを あげると、きじも けらいに なって ついて きました。
Momotaro gave the pheasant a dumpling, whereupon it too became a retainer and joined the party.

ももたろうと いぬが やまみちに さしかかると、さるに あいました。
Momotaro and the dog were walking along a mountain path when theyCame across a monkey.
［ももたろうさん、ももたろうさん、おこしに つけた きびだんご、ひとつ
わたしに くださいな］
The monkey said, Momotaro, Momotaro! Please give me one of those dumplings attached around your waist!
ももたろうが きびだんごを あげると、 さるも けらいになり、いっしょに ついてきました。
Momotaro gave the monkey a dumpling, and the monkey also became a retainer and joined the party.

しばらく いくと、いぬが やってきて、ももたろうに たのみました。

ももたろうは けっしんしました。［ぼくが おにを たいじする！］
Momotaro resolved and said, I ll to go off and exterminate the demon.
おじいさんと おばあさんは ももたろうの ために ちからの つく きびだんごを
つくりました。
The elderly couple made Momotaro plenty of dumplings to give him extra strength.
ひとつたべたら ひゃくにんりきの きびだんごをもって しゅっぱつだ
Eating just one, Ill get the power of a hundred warriors! he said proudly.
ももたろうは でかけました。
