Acne is associated often with adolescence. Acne due to heat imbalances are generally red, soft, small and tend to be aggravated in hot weather. On the other hand, acne due to cough imbalances are pale, hard, fairly large, have an oily secretion and tend to aggravate in cold weather. Home Remedies: 1. Sticking to a proper eating schedule and avoid excess intake of tea, coffee, pickles, fatty diets, aerated drinks, etc. prevent the appearance of acne. Chronic constipation should be taken care of well in advance. 2. Wash the face properly with water and wipe it with a clean towel. Apply honey on the entire face with the help of cotton and leave it overnight. Wash off the honey in the morning with water and lemon juice. Practicing this for several days helps in curing pimples. 3. Slice a healthy and fresh cucumber and apply the slices over the face, eyes, neck etc. Leave them on for half an hour. It is a good tonic for the face and its regular use prevents pimples and black heads. 4. Finely powder 20 gms each of Indian gooseberry and Beleric myrobalan. Add an equal amount of finely powdered gram flour and a spoonful of honey, a pinch of turmeric powder and a cup of milk. Mix this solution properly and apply on the face and let it dry well. Wash the face with cold water and try avoiding exposure to dust. Repeating this exercise for several days restricts the occurrence of pimples. 5. Make a fine paste of 100 gms of finely powdered gram flour, two spoons of curd, and a few drops of sandalwood oil. To this add 1/2 a teaspoonful of lime juice and mix well. Apply the paste on the face and wait for about an hour. Wash the face with cold water. Repeating this for several days will help you maintain a smooth skin. 6. Take B-complex and zinc supplements daily as a preventative measure. 7. Apply a paste of ground black cumin seeds and vinegar to affected areas. 8. Apply a paste of sandalwood and turmeric powder to affected areas. 9. Apply a teaspoon of lemon juice and a teaspoon of ground cinnamon to affected areas. 10. Dry some orange peel and grind into a powder. Mix this with water to create a paste and apply to affected areas. 11. Rinse the face with rose water three times per day. Avoid using soap with this treatment. 12. Apply a teaspoon of turmeric powder and a teaspoon of mint or corriander juice to affected areas. Wash off before bed. 13. Make a face mask from clove or fenugreek and leave on overnight. 14. Water therapy in early morning is highly recommended for acne cure.
Precautions 1. Do not over wash the skin, which will dry and aggravate it. 2. Take steps to maintain a clean bowel and avoid constipation, as toxins from the intestines can often lead to breakouts. Drink some hot milk before bed or eat some boiled spinach before each meal to help in this regard. 3. Do not pick or peel acne to avoid leaving pock marks on the face. 4. Avoid foods rich in chocolate, oil, and refined sugar.
Burns Home Remedies : 1. Immediately put the infected part under cold running water and apply ice to prevent sore formation. 2. A paste made of turmeric powder and water, applied locally, provides instant relief to a burn injury. 3. Sesame oil, applied on the affected burnt skin, provides equally good relief. 4. Applying tooth paste have immediate relief and prevents formation of sores.
Dandruff Home Remedies 1. Rubbing lemon juice over the scalp before taking a bath prevents dandruff. 2. Apply sage and rosemary tea to the scalp. 3. Grind into a fine paste two tablespoons of fenugreek seeds that have been soaked for eight hours in water. Apply to scalp and wash out after 30 minutes. 4. Apply warmed coconut oil with the juice of two lemons, and leave in hair for two hours before shampooing out. 5. Take about 100gms of leaves of Margosa (Neem) tree and boil them in a liter of water for 1-2 hours. Allow it to cool and strain it. This decoction is an excellent hair wash and prevents dandruff. Prepare a fresh decoction for every wash. 6. Finely powder the pods of soap nut acacia and apply it on the scalp with water. Leave for 15 minutes before taking a bath. Using it for several days cures dandruff. 7. Rinse the hair with a mixture of 3 tablespoons vinegar and one cup water to eliminate shampoo residue which can cause scalp irritation. Dry Skin Home Remedies
Even in normal people, hormone imbalances causes dryness of the skin when it is vitiated due to seasonal influences. This dryness may even extend to the mucous membranes covering the lips and thus cause cracking. Dryness of the skin and the mucous membranes can also be caused by certain illnesses like fever. 1. An oil massage is a simple yet well-known remedy to treat dry skin. For better results, you may add a few drops of glycerin to the oil just before application. 2. Apply aloe vera gel, cod liver oil, or vitamin E oil to affected area. 3. Vitamin E and cod liver oil will help with general skin health. 4. Clarified butter or milk cream are good for cracked lips. Apply them for a couple of days just before going to bed.
Facial Care Home Remedy: 1. Apply aloe vera to clean facial skin for general health. 2. As much as possible, try to use unscented facial soaps and products. Especially those containing aloe vera are recommended. 3. Create a facial mask from chamomile tea, honey, oatmeal, plain yogurt, pureed strawberries, sunflower seed oil and water, or wheat germ oil. Leave the facial on for twenty minutes and rinse clean.
Itching Home Remedy 1. Take a bath with a little peppermint or yellow dock to relieve itching. 2. Apply aloe vera, cod liver oil, Vitamin E oil or wheat germ oil to the itchy area. 3. Heat mustard oil with a couple of garlic leaves. Cool it and apply to the affected areas.
Prickly Heat Home Remedy: 1. Apply aloe vera, cod liver oil or garlic oil to the affected area. 2. Take adequate supply of vitamins A, C, D, and E to aid the healing process. Zinc is also recommended. 3. Apply baking powder or baby powder. Try to keep the area dry as much as possible.
Rashes Home Remedy: 1. Apply aloe vera gel, cod liver oil, or vitamin E oil to the affected area.
Precautions Take vitamin C and zinc as a preventative measure. Avoid exposure to sunlight and hot water.
Skin Allergies Home Remedy: 1. Add some lime juice to sandalwood paste and apply to affected areas. 2. Grind a tablespoon of poppy seeds and add to a teaspoon of water and a teaspoon of lime juice. Apply the resulting paste to affected areas.
Skin Cracks Home Remedy: 1. Take adequate supply of vitamins A, C, D, E, and B-complex.Zinc is also recommended. 2. Apply aloe vera gel or black walnut extract to the affected areas.
Skin Infections Home Remedy: 1. Make a paste from turmeric powder, mustard seed and lime juice. Applying this paster to the affected area helps fast recovery. 2. Make a paste from a little water and equal amounts of neem leaves and turmeric powder. Apply the paste to infected areas.
Stretch Marks Home Remedy: 1. Apply aloe vera gel, cod liver oil, or vitamin E oil to affected areas to help the healing process. 2. Eat lots of nuts and seeds and take zinc and vitamins A, C, D, E, and B-complex as a preventative measure.
Sunburn Home Remedy: 1. Apply some sandalwood paste to affected areas. 2. Apply aloe vera gel before and after you are in the sun to prevent and minimize sunburn. 3. For sun tanning, use lotion with PABA to minimize sunburn risk while still tanning the skin. 4. For facial sunburn, apply a paste made up by mixing whole wheat flour, milk, olive oil and honey paste. 5. Apply apple cider vinegar to help heal sunburn. 6. Apply a mixture of 1 part tomato juice and 6 parts buttermilk to the affected areas. Wash off after 30 minutes. 7. Create a yogurt based paste with barley and turmeric and apply to affected areas.
Precautions: Do not use baby oil or any lotions with lanolin when you are in the sun. Wear sunscreen when you are in the sun.
Wrinkles Home Remedies 1. Eat a spoonful of shredded ginger with some honey every morning. 2. Mix two tablespoons vodka, a tablespoon fennel seeds, and 2 teaspoons honey, and let sit for three days. Strain out the fennel seeds and use as a toner on the face. 3. Massage coconut oil into the skin where wrinkles appear before bed.
