การใช้ Preposition  Preposition หรือ คำบุพบท เป็นคำที่ใช้ "บอกตำแหน่ง" ของคำนาม ดังนั้นส่วนมากเราจะเจอพวกมันวางอยู่หน้าคำนาม (ชื่อคน, a man, children, birds, a house) หรือสรรพนามที่เป็นกรรม (him, her, us, their, me, you, it) นอกจาก IN - ON - AT ที่เคยนำเสนอไปก่อนหน้านี้แ ก็ยังมีคำบุพบทอีกอื่นอีกมา แต่ที่เจอและใช้กันบ่อยๆจริ in (อิน) ใน The cat is in house. แมวอยู่ในบ้าน on (ออน) บน The house is on the street. บ้านอยู่บนถนน below (บีโล) ข้างใต้ A dead body is found below the bridge. ศพถูกพบใต้สะพาน under (อันเด้อร์) ข้างใต้ I'm wearing a t-shirt under my jacket. ฉันใส่เสื้อยืดใต้เสื้อแจ็ค beneath (บีนี๊ท) ข้างใต้ The puppy is beneath the blanket. ลูกหมาอยู่ใต้ผ้าห่ม underneath (อันเด้อร์นี๊ท) ข้างใต้ The kitten was underneath the sofa. ลูกแมวอยู่ใต้โซฟา above (อะเบิฟ) เหนือ, ขึ้นไป Some birds are flying above the trees. นกกำลังบินอยู่เหนือต้นไม้ near (เนียร์) ใกล้ A bear lay on a rock near the top of the mountain. หมีนอนอยู่บนโขดหินใกล้ยอดเ far (ฟาร์) ไกล Your house is too far from your office. บ้านคุณไกลจากออฟฟิศเกินไปน behind (บีไฮด์) ข้างหลัง Please close the door behind you. ช่วยปิดประตูข้างหลังคุณด้ว in front of (อิน ฟร้อนท์ ออฟ) ข้างหน้า He parked the car in front of the building. เขาจอดรถไว้หน้าตึก onto (ออนทู) ไปบน She dropped her backpack onto the table. เธอวางกระเป๋าไปบนโต๊ะ off (ออฟ) ออกจาก(ข้างบน) She got off the bus at the next stop. เธอออกจากรถบัสที่ป้ายหน้า into (อินทู) ไปใน,เข้าสู่ He pulled her into his arms. เขาดึงเธอมาสู่อ้อมกอดของเข out of (เอ้าท์ ออฟ) ออกจาก(ข้างใน) He looked out of the window. เขามองออกไปนอกหน้าต่าง around (อะราวด์) รอบๆ, แถวๆ We walked around the old town. เราเดินไปรอบๆเมืองเก่า among (อะม้อง) ท่ามกลาง, ในหมู่ Kate is popular among her classmates. เคทเป็นที่ชื่นชอบในหมู่เพื between (บีทะวีน) ระหว่าง The restaurant is between the police station and the school. ร้านอาหารอยู่ระหว่าโรงพักแ opposite (ออพโพซิท) ตรงข้าม Their house is opposite the bus stop. บ้านของพวกเขาอยู่ตรงข้ามป้ through (ทรู) ทะลุผ่าน A staff guided us through the castle. เจ้าหน้าที่นำทางพวกเราสู่ป
