The French were the first to move away from fashion to industry, not just dress-making but they have been exporting their style since the 17th century, which clearly made most of the world realize what fashion was.
Today, Paris is considered one of the world's fashion capitals, along with London, New York and Milan. These days it does not mean that people in Paris wear beautiful clothes - it is a serious business.
Lead with Example
It all came to a rise in the 17th century when the Union of France with fashion and style came. Well! Surprisingly it was initiated by none other than the Louis XIV.
The Sun King made it his business which was the most beautiful in the world, so the luxury goods industry in France became a royal commodity. The creation of the fashion press in the 1670s brought French fashion into the limelight and changing perceptions and styles of different fashion "seasons" became available to a larger audience of world. Even the Europe tourists attraction was effected.
Louis XIV was responsible for introducing himself to the abusive tendency to curled hair. The king was going bald, so he paid more compensation and was followed by the rest of the court.

The French Royal Court turned into a sport of indigestion, where fashion was concerned about looking at whose wig is the longest? Whose skirt is the widest and most covered in short bows? There was a big outbreak of fashion in Paris. A lot of fashion shaows are being held every year at Eiffel Tower of Paris.
Fashion has always existed at the intersection of art and consumerism and has never happened in today's society. The way we look at our desires, bodies and epochs shapes fashion in every season, as it shapes us. Paris Fashion is the centre of it all.
