Accademia Gallery is one of the most famous museums in Florence, Italy. The museum is famous for housing artworks by popular Florentine artists. The incredible artworks from the medieval period of Rome attracts millions of tourists every year. 

1. Accademia Gallery is most famous for Michelangelo's statue of David. The statue was made from a single marble stone from 1501-1504. The statue of David was previously installed at the Palazzo Vecchio and moved to Accademia Gallery to protect from bad weather in 1873. 

2. The famous statue of David has a height of 17 feet and its marble was restored in 2004. A special wing was also given to it between 2003 and 2004 at the Accademia Gallery and named as Tribuna del David. 

3. Accademia Gallery also housed the other artworks of Michelangelo and other famous Italian artists which includes Andrea del Sarto, Domenico Ghirlandaio, Paolo Uccello, and Sandro Botticelli. 

4. Botticelli famous artwork Madonna and Child also called Madonna col Bambino) is also housed at Accademia Gallery museum.

5. The other artworks includes the  Prisoners, the rape of the sabines, Cassone Adimari, Coronation of the virgin and many more.

6. In 1900s another department was added to the museum of the Accademia Gallery called the department of musical instruments. The instruments are preserved here from the Cherubini Conservatory. The oldest Piano in the world is also housed in the musical instruments department of Accademia Gallery. 

7. The prisoners gallery called the Galleria dei Prigioni is at the ground floor of the museum. It is the house of famous arts which includes Galleria dei Prigioni. The ground floor also houses the houses Michelangelo's David.

8. There are also several other rooms on the ground floor of Accademia Gallery which  include Sala di Giotto which is the house of artworks by Giotto, Sala del Colosso which is the house of Giambologna's Rape of the Sabines,, Sala di Giovanni da Milano e degli Orcagna which is the house of  famous artworks by the di Cione brothers and Giovanni da Milano, Sala del Duecento e del Primo Trecento which houses the Tuscan paintings, Salone dell'Ottocento which is the house of famous 19th century arts.

9. There are two rooms on the second floor of  the Accademia Gallery named Sala del Tardo Trecento I and II. These rooms preserved the altarpieces from the 13th and 14th century. 

10. Second floor of Accademia Gallery also has the rooms Sala di Lorenzo Monaco which preserves the paintings by famous Florentine artists like  Lorenzo Monaco, Agnolo Gaddi , Gherardo Starnina, and many others. The other room is Sala del Gotico Internazionale which contains the artworks by Bicci di Lorenzo, Giovanni Toscani and  Maestro di Sant'Ivo.
