The farmer's market

found this at a local farmer's market. The farmer told me he can control the colors and intensity (saturation) with fertilizer.....whoa!

I find shooting in mid-morning light somewhat challenging (and that's a nice way of saying that I mostly just find it butt-ugly). So in this situation, I was hoping that the sliver of shadowed darkness might better give this image a sense of depth and likewise make the strawberrys in the foreground stand out a bit more.

Of course, if I was wiser (or perhaps more disciplined) then I perhaps would have made it to this market around 6AM where the early morning light just would have made my searching for images all the much easier than working in butt-ugly mid-morning light. Still, I'm happy enough with this shot.

My walk in this local farmer's market this morning had me in amazement... mostly because as I walked down the rows and rows of all this truly fresh produce, I found myself thinking how in contrast this all is to some country which might be experiencing drought or famine, and that it truly is a blessing that we here are afforded such an astounding abundance of great food.
