การเปลี่ยนแปลงข้อตกลงทางภาษาอย่างสำคัญในปัจจุบันมาจากสื่อมวลชนก็มักอ้างความงอกงามทางภาษาหรือไม่ก็อ้างว่าเป็นภาษาเฉพาะแบบเช่นภาษาหนังสือพิมพ์เป็นต้น บางก็กรณีก็เป็นเช่นนั้นจริง แต่คงถือเป็นเหตุผลอ้างทุกกรณีไม่ได้ ภาษาที่ผู้แปลข่าวแปลมาอย่างลวกๆ แล้วอ่านเผยแพร่กันทางโทรทัศน์นั้นจะบอกว่าเป็นภาษาโทรทัศน์ก็คงไม่ถูก ที่จริงก็น่าจะยอมรับข้อบกพร่องแล้วหาผู้แปลที่มีความรู้ดีทั้งภาษาไทย ภาษาอังกฤษก็น่าจะดีกว่ารู้ดีเฉพาะภาษาใดภาษาหนึ่ง หากสื่อมวลชนระมัดระวังในเรื่องการคัดเลือกตัวบุคคลไปทำงานด้านภาษา และรู้จักยอมรับข้อบกพร่อง ไม่ถือทิฐินัก การข่มขืนภาษาก็คงลดลงได้มาก
