You can now get one visa for both Thailand and Cambodia

All give thanks to the Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy single visa (or ACMECS visa, if you’re pressed for time).

Thanks to that freshly minted diplomatic arrangement, residents of 35 different countries can now gain entry to both Thailand and Cambodia via a single visa.

In the works since 2003, the ACMECS visa represents not only a boon to travelers, but also a good sign for southeast Asian diplomatic progress in general.

Meant to imitate the European Union’s Schengen arrangement, the visa could eventually extend to Laos and Myanmar as well, depending on how the Thai-Cambodian test run fares.

Those interested in applying for one of the joint visas can do so at either Thai or Cambodian embassies and consulates. The visas will allow visitors to spend up to 60 days in Thailand and 60 days in Cambodia.

And now (courtesy of the Nation) those lucky nationalities that will get to take advantage of this fancy, dual visa:
